Hi all, can I ask your advice.

How popular is the LWF conversion on a 993 ?

Looking at a 2WD manual Carrera with varioram intended for road use only and car is standard other than this conversion. Would it put you off buying or be considered a bonus ?

Have a '95 with singlemass FW. Installed by previous owner, I consider it to be very much a bonus.

Any downsides you have found day to day? Also have your cars been remapped? I heard that a varioram car doesn't need it but non varioram should be but not sure I trust that advice.

Mine came with a Steve Wong chip - no stalling issues.

That is really useful thanks. Didn't know about clutches not lasting so long but it does make sense.

That's a new one on me - why would that be?

have had it on mine for a good few years, was done at the same time as having a diff fitted.

i think I've stalled it twice forwards nd maybe 3 times turning around in the drive... but hardly a drama.

i had a rebuild by EMC last year and at the same time renewed gear box mounts and other busing with Powerflex ones.. the cain is a bit more chattery now with the poly gearbox mounts but I quite like that.

It does indeed spin up a hell of lot quicker than a standard. You won't regret it... its ace
