I used the Aliath kit with good results earlier this year. Mine were 25 years old when removed and a right pain to do. Photos are in order, no 3 is with no PPF and no 4 is with the Aliath PPF in place.
I got as much of the original PPF off with a hairdryer and my nails as I could, then used white spirit and alcohol wipes to melt the glue off, and again used my nails only to protect the paint. My fingers were a mess but no damage to the paint whatsoever.
The only thing I'd do differently would be to use Ultimate Compound or similar on the newly exposed paint before re-covering it, the Aliath panels are slightly larger then the originals and if the there is a very slight difference in shade between the originally covered and non covered paint. You can only see this from 10cm or closer so no big deal :-)

May I ask what caused the ‘cracked’ effect in the initial images...... Mines done the same on the offside rear arch.
It's the old PPF material that dries out and cracks over time, modern materials are much more resilient. Also the right side tend to go first as they go through lots of temperature changes with the oil tank just forward of the wheel.gwsinc said:

Yup.... you get the 993er Self-sacrifice Bronze award. You only get Silver or Gold if you lose limbs etc.gwsinc said:
Are you certain that Persian Rug is soft enough to park the 993 upon?I was thinking porcelain tiles with underfloor heating to go with the already installed climate, in the garage for my old girl.
SWIMBO quietly pointed out that it may be more prudent to focus on the gaping big hole in the back of the house (Its only been there 6 years) and spend the funds on getting the rear extension sorted.
