Educate me please - 911/964/993 engine lid differences

I know the spoilers are all different, but ignoring that, are there any differences between the shapes of the pre-996 engine lids?

I gather that the bonnets are all the same.

Are the fixing points different? I know that aftermarket hinges are different, but are the differences on the side where the hinge attaches to the body or the lid?

Basically - are the three eras of lids interchangeable?


I've done a search but the terms come back with too many results on buying the parts, not the differences.

I think they are all different due to spoiler sizes and also rear wiper on the early cars. They all have their own individual part numbers.

A 993 lid is much shorter than a 964 lid if you google a photo of the two from the rear quarter there is quite a difference. Don't know about the earlier lids.

Gosh yes how unobservant of me. So is the rear light bar that much lower on the 964?
