Clutch helper spring 911 SC
Discussion
Hello all
The clutch helper spring decided it wanted to call it a day on my 911SC last week.
Other than a couple of bangs and noticeable judders through the clutch pedal when it happened the only difference I've found so far is that the clutch feels heavier. Changing gear is absolutely fine, clutch pedal action is nice and smooth still. There's still free play in the pedal too.
I've done tiny bit of research online and found that some people actually remove this spring as they prefer the feel of the clutch without it. There doesn't seem to be any stories of it being detrimental to the clutch/gearbox/anything else. Therefore, I'm wondering whether to only have it replaced when I need any related work doing. Just wondered if anyone on here had any thoughts/experiences?
Cheers!
