Seeing a few of those interiors has inspired me to do something with mine, I have a rare full green leather interior it would seem, but I was toying with the getting the steering wheel re-covered in a similar color alcantara or leather, if I get the alcantara dash recovered as well, with double stitching (Carbone maybe), then the steering wheel will blend in nicely. Otherwise, maybe green stitching on the steering wheel and dash with black alcantara?

Too many choices.

I like the interior several posts back, I wouldn't mind fitting those seats with the outer in green and the centres in alcantara as well.

Will post some pics when I get back from trip, it wasn't what I was expecting to get, but everyone who's seen it, thinks its amazing.

If it is rare then why would you want to remove its originality and replace the dash with alcantara?

I don't think alcantara works well on Dashboards - the lower section (997 GRS vibe) yes, but across the whole thing? even the GT4RS option looks bad in my opinion.

Maybe that's what £200k gets these days, Singer want upwards of a million if you take the view that "everything is important".

I've heard that a proper restoration on a bog standard car can be upwards of £100k these days.
Where does it go? I figure on £25k on a decent respray, £25k on a rebuilt engine and another £25k on a full interior fit-out and sundries, but I'm struggling to see where the massive refresh bills come from, I was reading a magazine article with some guy saying his standard car rebuild cost was £140k, is it big overheads and expensive staff?

I've read a few accounts of someone starting a refurbishment of their car and ending up six figures deep into it for what looks like a standard car rebuild without crazy expensive exotic parts or major modifications or design work.

At this rate a classic car crash is on the cards, the prices of the cars seem to be easing, I hear it's hard to sell a car for a good price in 2024, but parts and labour are going up, at some point people walk away and the assets crash.

Is it me or is the way they have done this leather around the air vent rather questionable , for a £200K car, a Paul Stephens one too,

From what I have seen of Paul Stephens cars it is the finish I would expect.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post on here from a PS owner saying what a fantastic car they own……I only know one person who has owned one, went back within a month (got his money back in fairness). I’ve seen a few ot there cars though….they do not look like £200k plus cars.
I think PS Automotive and Paul Stephens are 2 entirely different companies.

Yes, Paul Stephens is PS Autoart, whereas this is a German company called PS Automobile.

You're absolutely right, it was only thoughts at the moment. If anything, I wanted to change the door cards to match the color with a more simpler RS style, obviously keep all the original parts as I always do.

On reflection, I will refrain from changing the dash top, the only thing I want to change is the AC control panel, to a Carbone style one, I think they look good and in keeping with the rest of the car.

They are indeed. Surprised the mods haven't been out with everyone being mean to Paul Stephens!

I also know of someone that finally got a refund and i suspect we are talking about the same person .

There was also ( around the same time) someone who didn't, which ended up getting nasty as PS had reneged on a deal.

There is an old thread on PH's about it somewhere

As in this one?

They do look good.

Their door cards are nice too

Yeah, those panels look good and would work well.

Those door cards are a little beyond what I'd want to spend, but maybe the RS style if they can match the original color.

Much prefer that approach to a dubious, butchered ‘restomod’.

Although, for that money, think I’d be seeking out a later, lower mls, original G50.

Reading the work undertaken, and seeing the end result - I'd suggest worth every penny of the asking price.

Nice ST clone listed today. As they go, for that price, seems on the better side of things.

Too bad money ran out when they got to the engine - opening that Lid is a letdown - Car is aching for Some ITBs. Where else did they scimp out on things? An SC engine with 964 cams wont deliver 250 brake lol, How could it when a 3.6 litre with twin plug and a superior intake and the same cams actually deliver 250? Probably 220 Max. Other than that I like the Car. I guess for 150 the engine remains largely stock…

I think it's nicely done, but at £50,000 less, I'd say the Fairmont Classics 3.2 is by far the better value car.

But how many original cars will there be left after this restomodding fad dies out? I called a couple of manufacturers lately to enquire about some lightweight bumpers and rear lid, and the lead time is at least 2 months, as far as I can tell, it shows no sign of abating.

Yup similar story to what the likes of singer and the likes has done with the 964.

I watched the new Singer video with Chris Harris. Sounds like they are now concentrating on the 930 Turbo 're-imagined' and once the remaining 125 orders have been competed for the Singer 'classic' that's it.

I find Rob Dickensons joirney facinating in what he's created.

Fair play to him, pure dedication
