I was told by the OPC that the 2.7RS that they had ... the yellow one ... was the only 2.7RS that Porsche had restored through their classic restoration process ... ??
Not true mate,i have seen a couple at the factory resto shop recently and i know of a rsl restored 10 years ago, plus others that have been sent there.
You get a nice book catalog of the resto at the factory, the last rs i saw looked very good in there storage facility.
Very true. There are 40 or 50 cars going through Porsche Classic at any one time…I doubt there is ever a time when they haven’t got one in there. Self selecting to an extent given the cost.

My 2.7RS Lightweight was restored at Porsche germany in 2019 and it was £87k .. and I thought that was bad !! for a pretty much full restoration.

Now living in Hong Kong.

wow, my sort a dream car, ok a bit more road friendly interior would be nice,, but what a base, a 904 rep named GT3R lightweight why? it has a tuned 2007 GT3 engine with 500+ hp on just 1500 or so pound... so under 700kg, a animal I guess.

with 1969 or so title... guess thats why the carburator? anyhow 500+ hp GT3 engine from 2007... wow

just 3 hours to go, hope it comes to Europa, maybe then I can hunt it in the near future hehe

its sold at 135k $ I would have it for that, its also on a old plate, so road tax free and even TUV free.

the buyer names him? self : geschwindigkeit, so that sounds German, so I hope it goes to Germany, my neighbors :-) a bit closer to home.
an ow, he said he owned a real one Long time ago, but sold it to finance a beach house or something like that, he's in its 70+ lol, he would like to own a bit of such experience back, great buy, a bit much faster then a original, I guess he could scare himself a bit with 500+hp on something like that 700kg lightweight.

Even then I bet he wouldn't have put a 4-barrel carb on Mezger engine.

ok, but that was to get their 1969 plate on it I guess,

but you know they even put some flat 8 cylinder engines in those 904, so yes he would if he had such GT3 engine and so on.

Its nothing like a 904,its the wrong size to start with, they had the tech in 65 for plenty of bhp,the flat8 were not successfull, such a thing as balance of power to grip and chassis etc.
Im sure there is some good engineering gone on,tripple webbers /pmo would have done the same job i would have thought and look better.
I wonder why the sale so soon, maybe the car is trying to kill them smile

Wow that is dreadful… where on earth do they get these prices from ?!?!

Exhaust is dreadful, as are the wheels and at that price they could at least have tried to put some decent seats in it. But it has got an LED lit limited edition amp in it…..

It is not horrible, but those prices are punchy (most of these cars) - it feels like people are just using dice to come up with a figure and then adding zeros (or nines) at the end
the amp is really more at home in a Twisted or whatever type car - but hey 1 of x ....

1/2 a mil for that! Comical.
As said exhaust looks fugly, big diameter fuchs dont look right on a so called back date.
I dont understand why folk build these cars to look similar to a rsr/st ,why dont they move away from this and come up with there own design.
Makes a 992 rs or 991gt2rs seem very cheap and excellent value.

Genuinely don't understand that. Most of it is exquisite, if not to everyone's tastes. Then than abortion of an exhaust, which is surely no nobody's taste at all and completely unnecessary...???
