What a stunner. Not sure what the value of these are, will it go for much more than that?

I saw such also in Germany for sale, also Turbo S wings, I believe the ad said it was an option or so, I think its cool, especially if its that case (option)

The 993 is already quite rich in various options (see equipment list under), and this one has also the 92 litre tank, and the very rare Turbo S wings (X79).

AKAIK there are only NB wings or WB wings. With the x?? option, there's no difference other than they punch a hole through. Can't remember if it's to feed the turbo (on a turbo) or cool the brakes.

But it's just an extra hole.

ETA Geolab added them to his old WB car, before he lost the car in a fire. IIRC it was rebuilt by someone with deep pockets.

correct, saw that when I looked back, but still a non turbo S with those wings I could find for sale now, but I'm sure I also saw a 993 4S with those wings not so long ago for sale, so or they did such themselfs ? or those were late 993 after the Turbo S came out and it became a option? not sure. If it was an option, then its good, if its aftermarket or later done by some reasons, it looks the same, but a but less interesting (but that depends somewhat on the price) :-)

I've never heard of the S having Turbo S hips either.

Fab service history but I'd be annoyed that it looks like it didnt have its first service until it was 5 years old.
I had the clutch changed on mine last year at 160K miles, ie its original was replaced. I know mine was a rarity to last such miles..... but this one had it changed at only 32K miles.

No early history and low mileage clutch replacement has got my Spider sensors on overlaod.

Nearly showing your age there. IIRC Spider senses tingling, without looking it up. Yes it does matter.

As a previous poster said. Option code is X79 and although rare, there’s a few about on NA wide body S and 4S cars. Think it was a £7k option - costly back then. Easily to identify if it’s factory by running spec check, or if it’s still present, cast your beady eye over the build sticker looking for that option code
There were also a few cars altered by third party, inc OPC body shops etc. And again as someone stated, factory hole punching would be more desirable!

In July 1996, the ‘rear wing inlets’ on my turbo cost an extra £2783.81 plus VAT. It was the X79 pack, as has been stated. The ‘front air inlets’ cost £624.04 plus VAT. That’s the X78 pack. I’d post the invoice if I knew how! They may have been priced differently for the n/a 993.

The part number for the ducts are 993-503-980-01 and 993-503-981-01 if anyone is keen to cut a hole in an existing car and install

finished at £80k.

I would have expected more. if it was a private sale and I could have been to see it I'd have paid £85.

looks like the bubble around collecting cars is bursting?

Personally I have no idea why you would ever buy a car without seeing it unless it was at a very reputable garage. The whole concept of buying unseen through Collecting Cars just seems insane to me. But hey, people and their money are easily parted. I personally know somebody who bought an absolute dog of a Porsche on the site and quickly resold it.
