F430 - Extended centre console?

I'm not a fan of the void between the centre console and dash, but I stumbled across:


when searching for options. Does anyone know if it was a factory option? Also are the little stowage nets either size of the tunnel available to buy?

Looks like a custom made job, I looked for something for my 360 so I could put the iPod and or sat nav somewhere but with no luck.

I could be wrong but I have not seen on any other 430.
I did think about making something myself and then have it covered by a trimmer.
I would probably start with one of those boom boom car stereo places to make for you out of MDF and go from there

It's a fairly common modification to US based 360 / 430 models (though the one pictured is Japanese)

When asked, the US owners all say that they had their local stereo place custom make the console, there doesn't seem to be an actual suplier as such (which is a pain as I'd love one for the 360)

Hmm may have to look into that as would be nice to build in a Tom Tom and iPod connectivity.
