Is the 355 the best sounding Ferrari - Just listen to this

I absolutely love my Manual F430 Spider and feel very lucky to have one - That said, I have to admit, there really is nothing like the sound of a 355.

Usually I love a Ferrari V8 but that sounds somewhat brittle and shrieky to my ears. Sorry, perhaps it's the Capristo I don't like?

Maybe it's just me..... I guess it could be the Capristo but I actually really like that higher pitch, it almost has like a Formula 1 sound - Very different to the tone on many other Ferrari's

355 is probably the best sounding Ferrari in my opinion. Maybe just beat by the F50 but it's a close call. Modern Ferrari V8s just don't sound as good.

Yes it was and was owned by a guy called Chas, i have meet him a few times when club scud used to have monthly meets. Really nice guy.

It's the exhaust configuration: the 355 has a crossover in the exhaust banks whereas the later V8's don't.

The big difference between new and older V8's (and the major contributor to the F1 sound) is the 5th valve in the engine - that was dropped from the 430 onwards when they went to a 4 valve motor. I have a Scud and while it is epic I still cant get the all time best Ferrari V8 out of my head...

No fancy after market x-pipes / synthesised sound, these things were straight from the factory like this!
