Jerky430!

I'm no mechanic,but the 430 seems to have an annoying slight juddery feel at lower speeds.Seems ok at higher speeds.Wonder if it's related to any clutch issues as pulling away slowly seems to ride the clutch.This may be normal as I have only ever driven my car so unable to make any comparison.The car is an 07 f1 with 8500 miles.Due a service,which I hope is not going to be costly!

Most supercar paddle-gearboxes in the 2000s were jerky at low or mid revs. Kangarooing <10mph is not uncommon. Check the car has had all possible software upgrades since launch from the factory. You can also get the gearbox remapped in the aftermarket, from someone like MRC, which will make the clutch clamp stronger, faster and smoother and improve drivability at low or high speed.

430 f1 box is pretty good relative to 355/360 so that suggests either clutch set up or wear.
Try it in sport or race mode as it changes the clutch mode.
F1 boxes can get confused if you are light on the throttle - hence why obsolete

Could be down to a couple of things. The 430 runs a double clutch and pretty good gearbox software resulting in a smooth takeoff in comparison to the earlier cars. It's likely that either the setup is tight, a by-product of PIS set low ( the imaginary clutch biting point you have on a traditional manual clutch) or equally as likely you have worn engine or gearbox mounts...

The 430 does not have a double clutch.

It depends on your terminology - it is fitted with what I call a twin plate clutch. Regardless of what you call it, it has two clutches in line with each other.

Ok a double PLATE clutch for the pedantic.... however you wish to describe it there are two friction plates...
