Howdy Guys,

Just thought id introduce myself and show off my new purchase.

Delivery is Friday and can't wait. It's nicely spec'd with some carbon inside and out.

Colour combo for me had to be Red with black interior and sport seats. Looking forward to giving it a nice drive around the Lincolnshire roads wink

Alloy wheel insurance from a dealer is almost always a rip. Try third-parties, like ALA. Most won't cover cars over ~£100k, but some do, and they are much cheaper than dealers.

Take onboard your point on the alloy wheel insurance - can these alloys be refurbished if needed? It says on the specification sheet they are "Forged 20" Painted" but so did another car I went to see and they look nothing like the same...

I had thought maybe they are diamond cut but unsure how to tell the difference.

They're very clearly diamond cut from the first image, they're essentially the same kind of wheels as the 458 had (as an option) - forged, painted, and also diamond cut.

Given how painful these can be to refurbish the alloy wheel insurance would be a sound purchase imo. As with everything though check the small print etc.

Lovely looking car by the way, exactly the spec I'd choose down to the calliper colours.

Thanks guys,

I have been looking for one of these since 05/16 and none have come up in a spec that I was happy with....

This is perfect spec only option not on which I would have gone for is Nero roof... but even then I am not 100% if I prefer it without.

Will get a few miles on it over the weekend without wrapping it around a tree.

I much prefer the standard roof to be honest, but it's to personal taste. It looks very nice, enjoy!

Alloys look diamond cut to me

Alloy wheel insurance can be good but depends on the policy. For example dick Lovett in Maserati sorted out wheel when in for service. Not sure who policy was with

Land Rover by contrast you need to claim within 48 hours of damage, only one wheel at a time, send pictures, damage report and no they cant sort it out for you during service.
That was a complete waste of money for me

Didn't have on Ferrari don't think it was offered from my dealer

Really don't think pictures do these cars any justice... pure beauty and a great job by Ferrari to design such a stunning car. Hope it drives as well as it looks!

I scuffed a diamond cut wheel on my 458 (on the Eurotunnel). Main dealer advised only 100% fix was a new wheel but he had a contractor who could do a pretty good job at refurbing. Said contractor advised me that job would not be 100% but would be pretty good. Three hours later I defy anyone to tell which wheel was refurbished. Cost about £80. Moral - if you scoff an alloy, don't panic.

I did likewise when a van squeezed me off the road (the only negative experience I ever had). Mine were done brilliantly but I could tell they had been done, maybe because of my crazy OCD. There was a sliver of darker paint around the edges of the spokes.

Also the process of diamond cutting by definition can't be done too many times, and it is worse where the alloys have shallow features etc.

What a car.... had this delivered today and actually amazed at how practical it is to drive... and how lethal it is when you put your foot firm to the carpet
