Motor Trend Channel, which has as many subscribers as Top Gear, is calling the Huracan Performante the auto equivalent of landing men on the Moon. It is that big a leap forward. New video here:

Very good video.

I keep seeing people saying its much more of a step forward than say 458 to Speciale, it really is moving things forward.

Hated the video. I was reminded of a teleshopping channel trying to sell something. Thought he'd end the video with a two for one sales pitch and I was nearly right.

Would love to see a sensible video

Drove one the other day and its way better than the standard Huracan. Markedly different than what the weight reduction and higher bhp figures would lead you to believe. Definitely Lambo's best car to date and you begin to wonder whether it could be the last N/A V10.

Is quicker and sounds better than a 458 Speciale IMHO. Some may prefer the 2 wheel RWD Ferrari for its playfulness on a track but the surefootedness of 4 WD on the road is more important to me.

Was the 'ring video not meant to be the modern day version of the moon landing video anyway?

Please get one.

I'm so bored of your Maclaren chat, I would actually welcome a change of topic.

It will be interesting to see what time SportAuto can achieve with it when they do a full test.
In terms of Actually buying a car, still would have a hard time walking past an Aventador - just seems like so much more Lambo than this.

Rumours that some buyers are switching their orders from the Aventador S to the Huracan Performante. Possibly for a faster car, or to flip it for a quick buck.

Don't know how you drive, but the faster car is really not that important in real life situations for me. I can go fast on the autobahn (and even there at some point I am limited by how fast I really want to go - it is ok to hit 300kph plus for a short while, but not like I want to or can do that for extended periods of time - going past traffic doing 100 at very high speeds will eventually lead to disaster) and for that I don't really need super fancy aero and when I drive on a mountain road, the speed limit is what takes care of it. A V12 more important than ultimate speed for me. I am ignoring the money aspect on purpose as in my opinion that should not materially factor into a car buying decision unless you plan to switch cars every 12-24 months (which I don't want to do)

I agree, that's why I have another McLaren on order but in the meantime the Lambo is a different experience. As I told the Lamborghini Dealer Principal its not as fast or luxurious as the McLaren but offers a rawer, more racey feel with a better sound track and is different even though I still think its inferior as a piece of engineering/product.

I have no bias or loyalty as such, I will buy what I think best suits my need at a given time as so should anyone else.

Maybe I'm having a midlife crisis and its time to be wild again rofl

He and randy actually do great videos and reviews.... this is spot on.... sportauto were highly critical re braking on the standard car when they set their lap time on the ring.. saying it undermined driver confidence..... what does he talk about here...

Guess he seems too impressed... maybe the car is that impressive.

It's certainly faster around the Ring, which is quite a good test of how "fast" a car is.

Be interested to know at what speed the ALA really comes into play to produce the astonishing ring time where the performante seems to outperform lighter and more powerful cars ?.
Cant imagine it being a major player in normal road driving though which is all I'm really interested in

The spider will also have to have major revision to ALA due to the roof and engine bay lines

If you watch the record HP Ring lap and compare it with the slower 918 laps, you'll see the ALA makes a big difference in slower and bumpier corners. Gets the power down better than any other car on the planet right now.

So with Lambo upping its game we can expect big premiums on the Performante then ? Previous special editions haven't quite lived up to Ferrari or McLarens editions like Speciale and LT
