I have been told I am on the list and I am going to a preview on the 20th Feb. However I have also been told being on the list is still not a guarantee I will actually get one until allocations are announced. It seems I managed to get on the list as I bought a Speciale from new and have kept it and did not do a quick flip on it to make money. Interestingly when I asked about the possibility of the car in the summer I was told the list was already over subscribed and even a deposit would not get me onto the list. I get the impression that Ferrari may have realigned their dealers to put long term Speciale owners on the list instead of the flippers that seems to normally happen. It does seem it is going to be more limited than the Speciale was from what I have been told so far.

Great, super, smashing, look at what you could of afforded to buy but your names not on the A list.
McLaren could only dream of having a clientele that are striving to earn the right to buy a limited edition. I mean, even Porsche have accomplished this (they are arguably the masters). Durzel said:

I was just ribbing RamboLambo really, but yeah that's a good point. I'll just go out and buy a Senna. Oh wait..
Rambo can take it! It really is amazing though, McLaren started the road car side only 5 years ago & now have customers who had to order 2 x 720s to get there hands on a 750k Senna!

675LT was equally in demand and I bought a 570S in addition to the 650S spider purely to get a shot at the next LT. It really is amazing though, McLaren started the road car side only 5 years ago & now have customers who had to order 2 x 720s to get there hands on a 750k Senna!

Yes and very aggressive!
Yeah similar story here even though I have just bought a new 488. Dealer gave me a list of things that would get me up the list of people who get to buy them, its easier (and probably cheaper) just to pay a premium to get one on the 2nd hand market.. It's a bit ridiculous because I bet a lot get flipped for a big profit by people on "the list". Still this is the way Ferrari do business and it obviously works for them.adamjsmith said:
Looks fantastic. Shame my dealer told me I have no chance of getting one, despite owning 4 Ferraris and having an 812 on order.

If owning 4 Ferraris with a 812 on order doesn't get you on the list....
If you don't mind me asking - were those 4 Ferraris main dealer sourced? IME Ferrari treat main dealer cars/customers different to private/indie sourced ones...
458 Speciale and 812 on order were sourced from the dealer in question, the others are classics and were not.If you don't mind me asking - were those 4 Ferraris main dealer sourced? IME Ferrari treat main dealer cars/customers different to private/indie sourced ones...
I’m not a lawyer ,but could it not be illegal on grounds of discrimination for a company to choose who gets to buy their products? Or on the grounds of deliberately creating an artificial imbalance in a market by setting prices too low?
Could a government not argue that it is being cheated of VAT because the cars are sold artificially too low? For example it is illegal to undersell a property to lower stamp duty, lower capital gains or avoid inheritance tax. Isn’t this the same thing but in a different guise?
Is anyone aware of a test case?
