I'd be wary of buying at the moment - but that's a personal view about the well documented and continued softening of the market.
Owned a 360CS for 18 months and driven many 360's etc
The big thing about the CS is the sound of it. That's why you buy it. It's not that great to drive and not that great round a track. If you drive the thing with Race mode off - it's pretty much like driving a 360 with no carpets in it
Buy a 458 - it's a much more accomplished car - it being much newer etc. If you must have a 360 - buy one with a great sports exhaust and carbon bucket seats
Agreed, CS was never that good a car. Looks and sounds great yes but the box is woeful, the chassis and steering a disappointing 6/10. Build quality is also woeful. It's main rival the 996RS was a far far better car in all respects, especially to drive.Owned a 360CS for 18 months and driven many 360's etc

What a load of turd.... Get a Scuderia or a 458.
" The CS has been the most trouble free of the 8 specialty cars I’ve owned over the past decade. I bought it from FoBH with full documentation and have maintained it to the “t” since. I do the fluids myself and have the belts done by a professional. I can’t think of anything that has broken in 5 years of ownership. Just routine maintenance. "

A friend, who competes in stunt competitions in a Pitt Special, took my CS out for a blat recently, having taken a 458 out the day before. His verdictGet a Scuderia or a 458.
'Your Challenge Stradale is a Pitt Special for the road. The 458 is, on the other hand, a Cessna 172'

Curious to know if you have been in one?
yes, I persuaded someone to actually buy one as he was looking for a car that wouldn't depreciate (he originally wanted a 911 turbo, to set the context)I thought it was good, I also like the standard 360 though but I feel at todays prices it's a huge gap to pay.

Spread between 964/993C2 and 964/993RS is, in percentage and absolute terms, even greater.
true, I personally owned a 993 RS and although it was a nice raw car I felt (and still feel) they are over valued besides, it was a 997 he was interested in

I was just making the point that with most premium car brands the ultra-rare models usually go for a big premium over the plain vanilla. When I sold my 993RS I could have bought 5 993C2 with the proceeds. Instead I bought a 550 Maranello, a Challenge Stradale and a 911 2.2T. How bonkers is that!?
that's very cool, I wish I could have held on to mine (quite literally) - I crashed it on the m6, I think it's still around somewhere, was repaired then used as an instructor car or something.WCZ said:

Obviously the transmission and power of a scuderia or speciale is another planet but it's always like this. Blame progress. Nonetheless the CS is indeed an epic car. IMHO.
