488 streaming music

hi 488 owners,

does anyone stream music to their car with an android phone? i notice there is apple car support?

have android and spotify, and wondered if its any use!

I do it all the time via Bluetooth.

Just pair your phone to the car. Select media and play away.

The only thing I have found with the 488 is the DAB radio has terrible reception. Its almost useless when driving. The one in my rangerover works perfectly everywhere.

Yes, it works fine from my Samsung Galaxy S7 - so should work with other and newer models too. I also agree that DAB performance is abysmal - not sure where the antenna is - in the windscreen perhaps?

I used my iPhone, Tunein Radio app and streamed via a bluetooth device. Worked well...as long as you had 3G or 4G.

I am glad it's not just my car that has terrible DAB reception.

Its something I am going to mention when my car goes in for a service. It's the only thing I can fault really. Everything else is great. Event the text message system that reads the texts out to you is superb. Why could they not get the DAB radio to work consistently ?

streaming does seem to work fine over bluetooth! hooray! turning on the quantum logic thing seems to make things sound better

agreed - DAB is not good, quite patchy.

have an interesting error to work through - incomplete car data, please see dealer... anyone have experience?

also in the market for some floor mats, the originals look knackered already - any recommendations?

I am sure mine had that error and once I restarted the car it went away.

Can’t really help you with the mats, do you do lots of miles in your car, I would be pissed off if the mats started to look knackered in mine when you consider how much they cost.

the error is because the date of first registration was not entered by the dealership, so annoyingly is there every time the car is started. the car likes to remind you about service intervals apparently, but it cant do that until someone tells it where to start counting from. not serious, just annoying.

have the cream leather interior, and the mats have a cream leather edge which is about 15cm wide that you put your foot straight onto when you get into the car. this now has lots of footprints on it! was going to swap for something black and without the leather edging if possible.
