Best Warranty for my 458 - but not Ferrari Warranty

Hi all,
i'm a very happy owner of my "new" Ferrari 458 since October. I am just blown away by the car - given it is my first Ferrari and having owned a vast array of different super cars before it, i think i am well and truly hooked by the prancing horse!
What i wanted to ask was in respect to warranty - i really do not want to spend 3k or whatever it is on renewing the ferrari power warranty, given what i have heard from many, it actually doesn't cover much after the engine and gearbox.
So my question is, whats the best 3rd party warranty that can be suggested for a car like this? - i have heard a few people on here mention warranty direct and warranty wise for example. Any views on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

not sure how useful this is but I know that Ferrari themselves offer Warrantywise cover on cars that they are unable to supply with a Manufacturer Power Warranty (i.e. those that fall out of the 12 or 15 year age limit they have).
This suggests Warrantywise may well have a nicely tailored policy that suits coverage on a Ferrari.

I’m sure I read on here that WD no longer cover 458’s.... i’m sure is was LEG who mentioned this in a past post? Hopefully he’ll be along shortly to clarify....
To be honest across my previous 430 and two 458’s I had only a few problems; all covered by the power warranty without a query with the exception of a £200 investigation fee on a cam seal oil weep. Apart from the leaking dampers, the cars are pretty robust. Maybe pay the £3k for peace of mind against a rare catastrophic engine/gearbox failure or just run without?

Just bought my first Ferrari(458 Italia) a month ago from Redline cars.It comes with a 6 month warranty(Warranty wise i think) and also contemplating getting an extended warranty..I am seriously considering stumping up £2.5K for the OE 'Power warranty' although baulking at the price..
I love my new Ferrari but do not want to risk running it outside warranty just in case the worst should happen..I'll be following this thread keenly for guidance on the best way forward..

Yup, they've stopped doing supercars. I rang in December for my F12 (as they have my 458 Spider). So now my F12 is with Ferrari and the 458 will go back to their warranty when the WD one I have expires in June. I had a 12 month quote for my 458 yesterday from WW..It was an eye watering £2650 which is more than Ferrari PW..TBF it seemed to cover a lot more than Ferrari's PW but a lot of money regardless..Shame, it was only £104 a month for their top cover on the 458.

I've not had to pay for that as my cars all came from JCT 600 and have been serviced there. They did the checks but FOC. I guess if you have a car the dealer has never see, they'll do it and charge you. Iw our imagine nay work needing doing would have to be done or would be excluded. It makes sense.Taffy66 said:

WW must read PH as just had a revised quote of £2031 for 12 months..Pretty good value so seriously considering it..Any experiences with WW on high end cars like Ferrari,Lambo etcWarranty Wise - Oh dear 
VERY pushy - they get after you to provide a review as soon as you take out a policy! Wonder what it's like when it's time to claim then read the negatives on here:

I’ve had 2 WD 3 year warranties.
They are fine on the small stuff - under £1,000, though, if they can, they will make you use OEM or refurbed parts. This can be troublesome where rads don’t quite fit or you damage the injectors on a refurb exchange.
For greater than £1k they will probably send out an engineer - who for me claimed the part was worn rather than failed (drive shaft).
Though they cover mechanical and electrical - the small print on last one had excluded egrs, locks and latches amongst other things.
On my latest I went for the stealer warranty - less hassle, cover most things and usually pays out for the big stuff
