Portofino arrived at the dealer!

Just wondered was it badly delayed? I have a Portofino on order, originally for May delivery but now delayed who knows how long due Rosso Portofino paint problems. However, looking at the pix of your car has reinforced my decision to stick with Rosso Portofino rather than change colour.
I ordered the car in May 2018 and was told that there was an Oct 2018 build slot. In September I was offered the chance to change colour or stay with Rosso Portofino but delivery would be delayed to April 2019. Out of the blue, I got a call from the dealer two weeks ago to say that it had been built and would be here for 1st March delivery. Yesterday, I received the photos showing that it arrived at the dealer on Friday. The colour looks good in the photos.
I think it looks gorgeous and it is the colour that sold the car to me. I already have a 458 spider and a 599 but I wanted something for more regular driving (though not as a d/d) and when I saw the Rosso Portofino car at the Festival of Speed I was hooked. Guess I need to chase my dealer tomorrow! Enjoy the car.

I was at my dealer buying my car when they did the Portofino testing day with loads of them and their super cool looking Italian drivers blasting them around Solihull.
I wasn't too sure about the car that day because it just seemed like lots of older women with big hair doing the testing.
As time has passed though I'm beginning to really fall for the shape and usability of the model.
It'd be great if you could keep the thread updated with your thoughts as you get to drive it more.

I haven’t put PPF on any part of this car. I had my 991.1 GT3RS fully PPF’s with Xpel Ultimate (I think that is what it is called). It was very effective as PPF but it detracted from the look of the car because it took away a little bit of the gloss and on close examination there were a couple of stretch marks in the film. When I received my 991.2 GT3RS I just had the nose done in SunTek and I am very happy with that. The film is barely noticeable although the protection is probably less that Xpel Ultimate.I decided to have nothing on the Portofino. The cost of the nose in SunTek was probably going to be the best part of £1,000 so I settled for a new car correction detail and GTechniq products all applied by KDS Keltec in Gillingham.
Keeping my fingers crossed not to get big paint chips!

I came out of a 488 Spider which I owned from new in Dec 2017. I did 1,100 miles in the Spider and it was my first Ferrari. I waited three years for it and although it was a beautiful car and the fulfilment of a boyhood dream I didn’t bond with the car. It had a new turbo at 700 miles and it was very badly looked after by HR Owen which put me off the car.The Portofino caught my attention because of the looks. I hoped my wife would sell her Boxster S for it but she doesn’t seem keen to let the Boxster go!
Early drives in the Portofino suggest that it is a very comfortable car and very quiet too. I had a Continental GT Speed until last year and I think this is much more a replacement for the Bentley than the 488 Spider.
I will keep you posted but I think this will be used more than the 488.
