Hi All,

I’m looking to sell my F430 and would like to go down the SOR route. Any recommendations for a good specialist/dealer to engage with?

I’ve heard a few negative stories in the past so wary of jumping into it without any research.

The car is a very good spec with low mileage so want to make sure it is dealt with properly for obvious reasons.

Many thanks

Given your location I'd talk to Roger at The Ferrari Centre (what was KHPC) in Maidstone

Slades car's allow any tom dick and harry to walk in and test drive customer SOR cars which is a big no no in my books. They had one of my supercars cars for sale and could not sell it in over 9 weeks but they put 200 miles on it in that time. They also keep some cars outdoors as don't have enough space to keep all cars inside.

GVE London are better in that respect as unless they know you are serious they won't take the car out of that shiny showroom for anyone to test drive - the downside - they don't sell much - some cars have been in there for like 18 months!

My best SOR experience has been with someone not that well known - a Maserati specialist called Nuvola London - they sold one of my cars within weeks whilst it was parked in my garage - they called me when they had a serious punter and I drove down to their unit in West London and the guy bought the car - smooth as butter.

+1 yes

Due to a "request" from Ferrari Spa, they no longer trade as: "The Ferrari Centre", and are trading once more as: "Kent High Performance Cars" (KHPC), but it's the exact same company/team.

They're a great bunch of guys, very friendly, with a great reputation, and a very realistic view of the current market value of Ferrari's (they track the market, give regular updates on interest shown in the car, advise on pricing of your car compared to how the market is moving, and don't put any pressure on buyers or sellers).

I bought my 348 TS from them, and then sold it again two years later through them, and they made both experiences totally stress free.

A while back I popped in to see how they were all doing, and ended up spending pretty much the whole day there, drinking tea, chatting all things Ferrari with them, and checking out the cars they had for sale.

They're one of the first places I check when I'm looking at Ferrari's for sale, because I know their prices are realistic, and I know that dealing with them would be so easy.

I enquired about SOR at khpc but they weren’t that interested if it’s not red, even though I have all main dealer history. They had a similar car not serviced for five years which the sales person said was ok as not driven much.
I got the feeling they were only interested if you were also buying or were a past customer.
My personal experience.

sold mine with T.H.Boler, no issues.. they picked it up on a trailer then sent me the money a couple of months later biggrin

i never even went there, did everything on the phone. I had to authorize them to take it to Graypaul Solihul for an inspection a customer wanted, they trailered it up there for the customer (at his expense). I would use them again, in fact i'm considering sending the R8 down there if i don't get any joy on a private ad.

They were short of space and as non red take longer to sell it would be taking up valuable space. As I say, my personal experience and yours may be different.

Really not an issue, they are running a business and you want fast turnover for cash flow. I’ll just make sure my next one is red. I blame brexit. smile

Good to know as I wouldn't want 200 miles extra on my car in the sales process

SOR is a no no for me. As stated, any time waster can thrash your car. OK, perhaps down to the dealer if a problem occurs, but most will not take as much care as yourself. My last supercar was sold by me privately and I didn't even allow the buyer to drive it (he had no insurance). But I sold cheap. If you want to get the best price for a F430 (which I personally would never buy from a private individual) then I can highly recommend Ferrari Swindon who will look after you motor.

that doesn't make much sense, in my experience selling to Ferrari will get you the worst price!

and if you're going to get more money for a SOR than a private sale, why would you care if any time waster thrashes your car? the whole point of SOR is you don't deal with the time wasters and as to whether someone "trashes" it, i really doubt any respectable SOR agent would allow it, plus what does it really matter if you've sold it and got an extra £10k in your pocket.
