Thinking of selling my Evora S and getting an F360

Can I suggest you call Aldous Voice at AV Engineering and discuss your concerns about 360 ECU upgrades etc. He will be quite happy to go through ownership prospects for both 360 & 430. He has owned both and truly is an expert on the subject.

He already commented briefly on this thread. A very knowledgeable chap and may know of decent cars either on, or coming to the market.
Fwiw, I have absolutely zero problems reversing out of my garage with an F1 car. This applies both to the car sporting its original TCU (2000) and our current CS TCU. Our drive is flat though, so this may be different for others.

Thought about that, but its a real step back from the Evora and doesn't float my boat. I have driven one a few times. Irrationally, if I am going older than the 360 then for me its a 308, but thats a totally different proposition as dynamically its nowhere near the newer cars rand is more of an art piece than a toy - all IMO of course
Mmm, unless your talking about handling characteristics, a 355 will never be a step back from an evora. It's a classic ferrari in the same way the 308s and the 246 are. None of them are certainly a step back from any thing.
Give me a 250 SWB over a La Ferrari any day of the week.

I can't help but think that a 360 is a downgrade from an Evora. Would it be possible for you to stretch to an F430?
Agreed. I had an Evora for 3 years and the put a deposit down on a 360 spider, but it just felt like a backwards step. Pulled out as I just couldn't justify it.

Driving is my primary objective coupled with enough reliability for long road trips and the odd track day.
blueg33: Is it that the cars do not physically fit in the garage ( i.e the garage is physically narrower than the cars ), or is it that you could get the cars in, but cannot open the car doors to get out?
If it's the later, have you seen this?: https://www.myparker.co.uk/
On the basis that the car's cannot physically fit in the garage:
A 360 is 1920mm wide.
If a 360 definitely wont fit, then chances are, a 20mm narrower F355 is also not going to fit (20mm: I<---------->I is bugger all in real terms [ That's closer to 19.5mm, but you get the idea ] ).
I have to say, I love all the: "just rent a garage" comments that people post, as though garages that are wide enough to fit the likes of a Ferrari 360, are readily available in every town/city.
Before I bought my Ferrari 348, I had to try and find a garage to put it in, because I have a single parking space outside my house, in a communal parking area that is out in the open, with University students living all around me.
Luckily, my local Stock N' Lock storage facility had one garage left available, and it was wider than a standard garage, so the 348 could be parked in it, and I could still get out of the car (Just - as it turned out!). The garage was only 1 mile away from my home, but did cost £220 per month (TBF, It was a highly secure site that gave me 24/7 access, 365 days of the year [366 in leap years] ).
Had that garage not been available, the next nearest garage was 25 miles away! (And that was for a standard garage that more than likely could not accommodate a 348 or wider!)
There were car storage facilities available that were closer, but they all needed 24 hours notice, to make your car available, and locked up at 9pm every night - Not what I was looking for! (It was my car - I should be able to drive it when I wanted to!)
I sold the 348 a couple of years ago, and have weighed up getting another Ferrari, but guess what one of the problems is? - Finding a garage that's big enough to accommodate it, that's not 25 miles + away, and does not have access limitations! - That's not as easy as people seem to think it is!

How about a F355? Arguably the best sounding V8 Ferrari ever made. It’s smaller than the 360/430 generation of cars but still has enough wallop not to be embarrassed by a golf GTi at the lights.
Perhaps it might fit your garage.
EFA of car widths - my first source on the width of the Evora was wrong.

A friend has offered me his Black 360, what are peoples opinions on Black ones? Will it ever resell?
Well Rosso Corsa will sell better, but I don't think you will have much trouble with Nero. It does also depend on the combination of body and upholstery though. Saw a bright green 488 the other day; hideous imho, but whoever specced it must have liked it. Additionally, DL have a F430 Spider in the gorgeous colour of Grigio Silverstone, but totally spoilt by the fact that it has red leather. Not a good combination in my opinion.A friend has offered me his Black 360, what are peoples opinions on Black ones? Will it ever resell?
Make sure you get a PPI done by someone who knows these cars. There are a lot of consumables that need changing on a fairly regular basis. Buy the best you can find. Alternatively, get AV engineering or Walkersport to source a good one for you. An annual service can very quickly climb to £5-10K with a new clutch, flywheel, ball joints etc. Go in with your eyes open.

Just thought I would update this thread
I have settled on a 360 F1 from a well known Indy. Its higher mileage than some at near 40k but the car is in great condition and the dealer has been brilliant. He is preparing it for me as follows:
New discs and pads
new belts, cam and ancillary
new hills ball joints
full service
new alarm siren
new exhaust
new tyres
aircon compressor rebuild (its ok, so this is precautionary)
new rocker gaskets and camshaft o rings
new ceramic coat to paintwork
Interior reconnolised
providing a complete Ferrari toolkit (some bits missing from the one with the car)
He is also fixing
airbag fault
weak ashtray spring
slightly discolored headlight glass (seems to be common, pretty much every car I looked at had it to a degree)
paint defects
sun visor the doesn't always stay up
Sticky switches sorted
He called me yesterday to let me know that he found a slight fault in the black crackle paint on the oil tank, so he will get that repainted!
On top of all that attention to detail, I get a 12 month warranty
I am pretty impressed with the service, many places would have tried to avoid doing that list of work. There is nothing major in the list except perhaps the aircon, but they are fiddly and annoying.
I should get the car next week, its a highish spec I think, challenge grille, factory shields, electric daytonas with contrasting inserts and piping, leather headlining etc, cd player, yellow rev counter

Congrats! What colour is it?
And is all that work that you pointed out/came up in an independent inspection? Or dealer himself?
Mainly the dealer, I picked up the small things like annoying sun visor. And is all that work that you pointed out/came up in an independent inspection? Or dealer himself?
Nero Daytona (metallic black) with sabbia leather, black piping and inserts.

That sounds like a comprehensive list and exceptionally prepared car. Now I can understand why they might have been offended at your suggestion of a PPI.
Bet you are excited.
TBH had I purchased elsewhere they would have been on the list to carry out the ppi. Bet you are excited.
I am excited, a week Friday I pick it up.
Well done. Looks like a lovely car and a very impressive amount of work being carried out before hand over! Should give you trouble free motoring for the foreseeable future.
Next step is to take it down to AV Engineering and get their ECU tune and faster F1 paddle shift upgrade. It will transform the car entirely!
