Just had a little look see whats about where have all these cars come from with crap seats? It's nearly every car!

This one stood out although can't see a private seller shifting it

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11047325

And this one

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10908003

No there annoyingly weren't any grey ones around when I bought! I would actually swap my Corsa one for a Grigio Silverstone in a heartbeat though!

That one at Amari has been sat around for a while. In the end I didn’t bother to go and see it. I’m not a fan of black wheels and the wrapped roof and stripe put me off.

Some real rubbish spec cars out there

See the private seller one works for me but being private it then doesn't. to much faff to finance and warrant. Did you not see the clinkard car? im certain you bought when i did

There is something i really like about this car. I have grown on silver as a color in all cars. I just quite like red

I looked at the Clinkard car, just couldn’t get a decent price for my R8 from them at the time.
I ended up with a Bianco Fuji Spider but there were just too many little issues with the car - spent more time away than with me.
Decided I want a red coupe this time with all the essentials as you’ve mentioned.

I’m waiting for a sensibly priced Rosso Corsa with Crema or beige interior car to appear with up to 30,000 miles and must be a well looked after motor. I’m not worried about the seats other than colour. I’m not even worried about lack of carbon bits, nor LED steering wheel - I’m perfectly capable of knowing when to change gear! Must have shields though. I just missed out on one in a November at £109,950.00. There is no rush for first few months of this year due to the weather and will be interesting to see how things pan out between now and end of March. I’ve been monitoring 458s for the last year and I think a lot of dealers (or owners on SOR) are not getting real as the same cars are not shifting and some have been for sale for many months. The search for the right car is all part of the fun for me anyway.

They're in a holding pattern like everyone else, really.

See what happens in Spring. If any price moves are to happen it will be then.

(I don't think much will happen).

I think the bounce will be low price cars at 100k, but given the news on electric, on how its the last nasp v8 etc I dont see them doing much at all perhaps spread 100-130k in a few years

Yes You and I were one of the 6 that cleared JCT out of all their 458 stock in June.

Good price for a spider although silver is probably not a strong colour.

I think Ferrari along with probably most other brand the cars have to be the right spec for them to shift. I would draw a parallel with the GT3 market in that if they don't have the right seats/reasonable mileage nobody wants them. Because the cars are made in such large numbers compared to previous gen cars you can just wait for one with the right bits to come up.

Over winter there won't be too many coming onto the market but come Feb/March I think there will be a lot of people out there looking to chop and change. This time of year you can kind of end up with the stuff that didn't sell last year for one reason or another but I think the market come spring is going to go nuts for everything so could be a good time to buy.

Slightly veering away from the central topic but if maintaining or even increasing value is the main concern, do the manual 430s not make most sense? Fast enough and capable enough to be thrilling on UK roads but not so immensely competent as to be almost bland at sane speeds. Proper manual involvement. Rarety too...

Both cars look nice but it really comes down to spec, to me at least. It seems Crazy when i can buy a 458 for 120k today but am instead looking at a car 30k up on this purely because I want the right spec but if I am thinking it then so are many others and thus resale is easier down the road. The spec you mention your take is going to hurt up the road but if it suits you then why not. I buy and sell used plant for a living and we have a certain brand / model of machine that is gold even in that game spec is key, if its billy basic model its so much harder to sell even though its cheaper

Thanks Regy53. I know exactly what you’re saying but in reality none of these ‘upgraded specs’ make the car perform any better. Re brand on plant machinery makes perfect sense but the Ferrari is still a Ferrari spec’d up to the nines or not. Sure the seats will give a different feel but handling and straight line speed is the same. Carbon is being done to such an extent now it’s questionable whether it looks as special as it used to. Personally I don’t want a car with any carbon side skirt and will intentionally avoid it. If the inside has carbon then great it’s a bonus but not something I specifically seek. I’m not too worried about much downside further down the line. The car will be driven and much enjoyed and not worrying about the next owner after me.

£30k extra on spec would buy you a nice track toy on top!

I’m the last owner of that silver spider. Cracking car with a great spec imho. Silver is an outlying F colour but it looks amazing in the metal and I got nothing but positive comments when out and about. Those wheels were a ridiculous something like £7k factory option and it’s got plenty of carbon and the right seats!

I personally thing that post winter & Covid, all F430s will rise in value. I have owned both manual and F1 F430s. Having learnt to drive it, I now prefer the F1 and don't think one can justify a £30K+ hike for the manual. I sold my immaculate low mileage manual for £65K and paid more for the F1 in exchange. But that was 10 years ago or so smile Time will tell, but I suspect 458s will hold their value (just) and 488s/F8s continue to depreciate. We will see.

That's really interesting about the wheels, I thought they looked like 16M wheels. I'm a real fan of that car .. too much of a fan

I also have these wheels and was under the impression they are a £10k option but either way they are rare and look special.

Given enough time, the 458/488/f8 will all end up around the same price point, I think.

They're just flavours of the same ice lolly. The only differentiator will be which flavour one prefers.

I'm not in the market but that silver one is lovely as you point out. Ace all round really.

Has anyone seen this car or know anything about it:

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11087509?c...

Also has anyone tried getting a finance quote from Ferrari recently as back in the summer most would happily quote at 5.9% APR but on this I can’t get them to move from 8.8%.

I was interested in this car but couldn’t get this out it my head:

As regards the finance, I’d get an independent to look at it, in October I got 5.2%; on the car I’ve just bought it’s 6%.
