I currently own a lovely LP560 manual which has been brilliant but have recently started looking at Huracan Performante coupe.

I find the LP560 is fast enough (for me) and the manual gearbox is fun with the click clack gear changes. Would I regret moving to HP? I am being advised by some specialists to hold on to the LP560 as it’s rare being last of the manual cars. Is it a wise move and any advice please? Anyone did a similar move?

That is a lovely looking colour combo.
Never seen a BRG Huracan which is probably why its the cheapest around..
Not purchased from him but I believe good things are said about the dealer.

Regarding selling yours, if you listen to enough people, every car is going to become collectable....

Looks reasonably priced to me. The chap from Gravelwood (Tony I believe) has appeared on FB a few times in that particular car with his cronies. Seems a good bloke and a petrol head and deals in some nice cars, so what's not to like! As previously said I've no doubt someone will always tell you that the car you have will be the latest and greatest, if that's the case get him to buy it off you!
You won't regret the move if you make it, the Perf is a great car.

I certainly wouldn't be paying cash on top to move to the newer car unless manual becoming a chore. Grass always looks greener but rarely is - if you want car that drives itself buy the newer car and there's something to be said to have all the power even more easily accessible with DSG. If you want a car that you have to drive well to make it fly stick with what you have - was following a Mini yesterday in my manual 997 turbo on cold, icy, dark, country roads around Buckinghamshire - we were not speeding at all but what a fun interactive drive it was swapping cogs and keeping up with a the very well driven mini for 30 odd miles - even the most ordinary drives made special. In your LP 560 I'd wager that innocuous drive would have been even more special with the click clack of gear changes and that noise.

PS - take the green car for a drive - only way to know smile

How far do we think the HP prices will drop down to before it stabilises?
The only way to tell is to go and see it, so that's the plan.

If you search hard enough, there's a youtube clip of the green perf going round Angelsey. Personally think it's stunning.

Obviously speculation but who's to say. I do note that Huracans do tend to get driven, Perfs included and not wrapped in cotton wool like other limited runs such as the Ferrari Speciale and similar others. I appreciate the Perf isn't as limited a production as some but it did have a limited and relatively short production time.
With all manufacturers flooding the market it can only go one way and residuals will get steadily worse on virtually all models unless of course you're willing to buy a car to look at and not drive, can't see the point myself!

I prefer to drive my cars and will probably will put around 2k miles per annum.

Difficult decision as I expect the HP to depreciate where as the LP560 has done most of the depreciation and still looks good.

That sounds like an oxymoron smile

I think the question is how much do you value the manual transmission - my preference is manual, single-auto-clutch, Double-clutch - but everybody is different (and my cars are not manual, although I much prefer manual... ultimately compromised). For a Sunday drive, giving up the manual for a (much faster and therefore possibly less enjoyable) non-manual car is a tough decision imo. I assume there is no chance to have both?

2k miles doesn’t sound a lot but I use a few other toys and don’t use my cars for commuting.

I do love manual cars and my 997T is manual too. The HP will be faster with all the latest features which is great. There are a fair few HP for sale but if I don’t enjoy it then it won’t be easy to find another nice manual LP560.

I will go and see the HP and take it from there. If the HPs are continuing depreciate then I can take my time finding my prefect spec?

Think that car is the cheapest on the market right now and for a spyder very very good value for money.
I know the car has done a few trackdays, one I remember when Archie Hamilton was giving the owner some lessons around Silverstone I think, but it looks a very nice car and well specced if I remember correctly.
As mentioned, the only thing to do is to go and have a look / drive and make your own mind up.

It is a coupe and I went to view it today. The car looks and sounds great with a lovely spec. I am still undecided as I spoke to the very helpful guys at BHP performance and the opinion is my LP560 manual will be very desirable and not depreciating whilst the HP probably has another £30k or more of depreciation.

I picked up my Alpina C2 on the way back from viewing the HP and the simplicity of these cars and manual gearbox was lovely and doesn’t help me one bit with the decision!
