I'm looking to buy a 360 but realised the one I'm looking at doesn't have them.

Is this an issue?

I must admit, I didn't even realise until I saw the car in person yesterday, but now I've noticed it looks naked without them.

Impossible for resale or just stop fannying and get on with it?

Makes sod all difference to resale. Mine didn't have them and can't say I ever cared.
Some people like them - including you obviously - but I doubt it would stop a sale for a decent car. And plenty don't have them.

Prefer a car with them but not a deal breaker for the right car otherwise

You can get resin shields that stick on and look pretty good IMHO.
Ok they are not recessed into the wing but 99% of people would not know the difference

Very few 355s or 360s had shields. It really became a thing with the DCT cars onwards. So even though shields are a ‘must’ on the newer cars, the older ones such as the 360 can get away without shields. After all the 360 doesn’t have CCBs and 20” wheels either so it’s a different look.

I found my perfect spec 360 7 or so years ago with the exception of shields. Found an enamel set which look absolutely perfect - c£400 for the pair. Only difference is if they are original fit factory option the body panel is different as the shields are set in

My 360 had aftermarket shields and they were virtually impossible to tell from factory, save the recess.
I think the 360 looks wrong and plain and loses something without them.
You can always negotiate a deal and with the saving get some fitted, but get the absolute best and get them fitted correctly.

If the person buying my car had tried to negotiate money off because it didn't have shields, he would have got a very short reply!

Generally prefer cars without shields, but if they have shields then they really should be in the correct recess imo

Some times not even ferrari get the "recess" right, or even bother on there multi million £ car.
These are either the most shallow recess I have seen, or there on top like what the majority of enamel shielded ferraris out there.
Also what blind mofo at the factory fitted them wonky out of line badges rolleyes
Personally, I'm a shield man , and I dont mean that stupid covid bollaxs either wink

When I was looking for a 355 many years ago , I specifically dismissed any cars with shields .... simply because to my eyes they looked naff , and spoilt the clean side view of the car .
But lots of people love them , and probably think that it is naff not to have shield and that the shields add some colour and edge to the side view .

I kept mine for almost 9 years and never regretted not having the shields .

So get what you like the look of , because you will find buyers who will love or hate the shields -- and i suspect , in almost equal measure .

Purely my own personal opinion, but I would not buy a Ferrari without shields. Moreover, callipers have to be Giallo. I gather a Ferrari without shields commands a lower price, but of course that is only a very small part of what makes up the value. Better to have a great service history and no shields than the other way round.

That's possibly the case with the 355 but many 360s have factory shields, even though they were an expensive option. To the OP, our car doesn't have the factory recessed shields but I do like them so I bought and fitted Ferrari's resin version. They look good, I wouldn't dismiss a car without them.

Mine has factory shields. My car is Nero so I think they add some light relief to the black. I would be less fussed on a red or yellow car.

I have read many times that shields are a must have.

Personally I think they are a little on the naff side, along with many of the various plaques in the F430.

But mine has them, but would have been as happy without if that is how it came.

Like many have said here, it is a subjective topic as much as the colour choice of your car. I personally prefer to have it, as it works well with the yellow calliper and yellow wheel centre cap. They can stand out within the red.

Mine came with resin shields from a Ferrari main dealer, looked fine, would have bought it without or with the proper shields, didn't really factor in the decision to buy

Shields should only be on the racing cars and not the road cars. Why anyone pays £600 for badges is beyond me.
