I specced/owned a 488 without a bit of carbon inside or out, as I was in an anti-carbon mood at the time :-)
Leather everywhere, and even had to order the carbon LED wheel and then pay more for it to be wrapped in leather - that's the only way to get LED lights and leather!
It did have the cheap looking plastic bits painted gloss black, along with the roof, which makes a big difference to quality appearance at much less cost. I've seen it bought and sold 4 times since I owned it, so clearly others liked it ok.
It's very easy to get big numbers with the options list...the Lusso I have now had £100k on it when new.
High options spend have also been are also part of the "get on the VIP list" sales pitch of recent years, and I very much doubt it's ever been a good investment. You don't get much of the money back on resale, all you get it extra liquidity over a base car. ie it will sell more quickly but you'll lose more money.

Here’s an example of a used one. List was £250k and available for circa £220k. A mate looked in to this car and when he requested the invoice it was in the name of a supercar rental company!

Do you think these are people trying to get out early to limit the hit or move into a Spider ordered at the same time? Turning into a risky game if so....
I think a lot of them bought to do what many used to do..drive a new Ferrari for 6-12 months and get out at list price or very near but it was not happening. Roman’s had the first UK car for sale which apparently sold under list!
I would buy one (to drive!) if I can get a high spec car around the £200k mark they are cracking motors.

The issue Ferrari have imho is the turbo engine. It's just not very nice sounding. Are any of the turbo cars in high demand?
It's not just a mid engined issue. The portofino and the GTC V8 seem to be suffering from the same "meh" response from the market to me.
The Roma might buck the trend I guess, given its competitors are similarly engined.
I doubt the folk who got used to flipping every few weeks to minimise their cost have the slightest interest in anything technical such as turbos - they just think they need the latest until such time as it begins to cost them money and/or requires too much 'decision time' due to frequency of new releases

Good discussion on the F8. I’m not a Ferrari owner but have been looking a bit around owning Porsche/Astons for many years. I have been confused by Ferraris sudden decision to flood the market with new models to the point where it has become really difficult to make a choice. What I don’t understand is, why the F8 being the newest V8 car doesn’t have the interior of the Roma. Is Ferrari just being lazy or is the F8 just a stop gap until a facelift is announced in 2021.

Pretty much a stop gap replacement as I understand it. All part of being a public company now and pleasing shareholders over everyone else. Hard to see how the brand maintains its unique status given what they’re doing.Let’s not kid ourselves, the original 458 chassis has now spawned 10 series-production models with the latest being the F8 Tributo/Spider. The F8 is a facelift and would never have had the SF90/Roma interior - far too expensive to re-engineer.
I have an F8 Spider on order, to join an F355 and a 488 GTB, nearly £50K in options and a less enjoyable way to spend £275k is hard to imagine. Make no mistake, you sign away your £25k deposit. Buying a new Ferrari is a hateful experience.

That's pretty strong, blueSL. A hateful experience...really? Genuinely interested. I've had a couple of V12 Ferraris (both bought around five years old) and have always kind of fantasized about being able to order a new Ferrari, do a factory visit, all that jazz.
