My 355 spider is currently equipped with a TUBI, has anybody ever gone from a TUBI to a capristo, or any experience of both in the flesh?

I’ve been having a look at some videos and the capristo appears more f1 high pitched, having said that I can certainly say the TUBI sounds much better in person than it does on the videos so I’m having a difficult time deciding.

Followed a friend in his 355gts with stage 3 capristo.... the wailing high pitched crescendo stays with you for a long time. Its simply immense - no comparison to a tubi imo.

My car has had a stage 3 Capristo since I bought it 11 years ago. And yes, an F1 like scream describes it well. If you’re anywhere near Essex when the weather’s better-and we’re allowed to drive-you’re welcome to check it out.

I’ve had both. My current 355 has a capristo. Both excellent. I wouldn’t personally switch if I were in your shoes as Capristo will cost you more and nothing wrong with your Tubi already fitted

Sorry to cut across the original query a little. Is there an exhaust that can give the 458 the same/similar scream as the 355? I am assuming that the answer is no due to the different engine arrangements, but that clip of the 355 with the Capristo (you know the one!) is amazing...

Without a doubt you would have seen mine. One of the original capristos which I have had for 15 years, others have bought them on the back of hearing mine.

Is that your car with the Capristo doing the drive by with the yellow Porsche parked up?

I wasn’t so sure as Tubi are using the video to promote their exhausts

Out of interest, what is the road in the video with the Porsche, looks very straight and smooth. A rare commodity these days biggrin

Yes that's my spider in the video.
I wonder why tubi has used my car in there promotion.
The video is taken at my village. It's Carsington water. Out of interest, it's were the new caffeine and machine owned pub now is. Locates at the bottom of that road.

Thanks for that. That’s a nice looking bit of road.

Are you running sports cats/decats?

Decatted (straight bottom pipes) Level one original capristo. Fitted 18 years ago. Tubular manifolds fitted 6 years ago, absolutely no change in tone or sound.
Some have seen the videos and have bough a level 3 thinking it will be better, but it's really not.

That’s really interesting. I’ve got a capristo sound 1 and sound 3 for the 360. With standard cats the sound one sounded more like a motorbike.

The sound 3 on standard cats, does start to do the F1 wail at 4 - 5k rpm. However the idle of the sound 3 is quite “flabby” if that makes sense, compared to the sound 1.

Maybe it’s the capacity increase over the 355 which makes it a little flabby.

This is the kind of sound I’m after hehe
