Beautiful. Love the carbon seats and the CS wheels. These are sought after and valuable options. The only negative for me is 10 stamps in 19 years is a bit light perhaps.

Newer 360/430/458 are just money pits and depreciation hungry. There’s also a lot always for sale .

I maintain a database of asking prices for Ferraris which goes back years. 4 years ago the median asking price for an F430 on Autotrader was £92990, right now the median price of an F430 on Autotrader is £92250. 4 years ago the median price for a 360 was £77000, right now it's £69984.
The average time that an advert is live for before being taken off sale has gone up slightly for the F430, but down slightly for the 360, but not by a vast amount either way.

So in 4 years asking prices have stayed basically flat for an F430 and dropped by 10% for the 360. That's not what I'd call bad depreciation.

Think "We Buy " are being a little on the mean side, i would love to pay you more if no serious problems with the car.

Bought mine four and a half years ago ,a 2008 model ,Maranello's were asking £90K with 18,000 miles on the clock.

Managed to get five thousand off and retain a two year Ferrari warranty but had to take Gap insurance out with them plus and a Ceramic coating

which pushed the price up to £86K.Suppose they must have a profit in both to make up for discount.

Tried to sell it just before lock down for £85K with twenty thousand miles being a little cheeky, then reduced it to a more sensible £79,950,

No serious interest what so ever apart from the usual photograph collectors so what with Covid i took it off the market,

Tried again in the spring of this year at £79,950 but nothing , that's with it's yearly service carried out a Maranello's to keep the main dealer

stamp going . got fed up when i noticed some dealers had them marked up for nearer the top end of the eighties with more miles so put the price back

up to £85K out of frustration, believe it or not i had more interest at the higher price ,confused but still didn't sell ,no one even came and looked at it.

Eventually against my better judgement i was talked into listing it on "Collecting Cars" where it fell flat on it's face with the highest bid of £67K and

in the beginning of the summer as well. I readvertised it again for £85K but put i would take a classic car in p/ex to my liking ,really doesen't seem to matter

up to a point what price you put on it ,seemed strange as well that really nice 360's were catching up to the 430's but mainly manuals

with the 430's manuals being priced at some £35/£45K more than the F1's.

Around July "Collecting Cars" got in touch and i agreed to have another go considering it wasn't going to cost me anything as i had already paid for

the photo's for the previous ad, at 11 o'clock on the last day it was at £62K a figure it had been on for days, resigning myself that sod it i'm going

to keep it and drive it as much as possible for the rest of the summer ,something i had not done having only covered a hundred miles in two years.

Covid and garaged twelve miles from home ,

A hour away from the auction finishing it was at £78K only £2K away from the reserve and with a call from CC i lowered the reserve to the figure it was at

hoping it might generate more interest as it was now being sold, it stayed at the £78K which i was happy with ,some £11K more than my first atempt .

Never saw the buyer start to finish as a truck collected it after payment.

There's still some of the 430's for sale now that were advertised at the samr time as mine back in the summer and with very low mileages ,

Haven't a clue why they don't sell easier, they are a great car and wished i'd used mine more and regret selling it the moment the truck turned up to

take it from me. weeping Never really got on with the padel shift but as my nipper said you didn't get much practice as he had put most of the two

thousand miles on it , thought with it sold i might get round to using the GTB more which i haven't . rolleyes

I have a 2006 manual 430 with a low mileage which I am sorry to say spends too much time in my garage. It still needs an annual service and the lack of annual mileage doesn’t reduce the bill as, for instance, the brake fluid needs changing regularly due to moisture ingress. At the last service all the bushes needed replacing which is purely related to age and I ended up with a bill in excess of £6k (I was given the old bushes as proof). These are expensive cars to run regardless of mileage.
I perhaps should have added that it is a fabulous car to drive which is more than fast enough, even by today’s standards, and flows naturally along our less than perfect roads. I also have regular access to a 992 C4S which is an awesome machine but you are more aware of the effort that the dampers and electronics are putting in to keep it all under control. The 430 just feels more natural and of course far more ‘analogue’ with the manual gearbox.

55k is taking the proverbial. I was thinking of selling my 2007 F1 Spider this year, prices for my mileage seem to be between 80-92k.

It all seems a bit of a palaver , however if you got to a price that you were happy with then I suppose needs must .
I hope that the spring may see a slight upturn and more interested buyers and by that time I may well have talked myself into it .

In a strange way of looking at it , in the current climate it maybe more people will keep hold of their cars and create a bit of a supply & demand market .

Yes agreed . That’s pretty much where I think I’m at , however finding a buyer may not be so easy .

Indeed, esp privately. People want reassurance, finance, maybe even a warranty and selling an F430 (or any Ferrari for that matter) privately will be challenging. Mind you, I bought mine privately so we are out there.

Been keeping an eye on F430s and my observation is that the same cars seem to be hanging around month after month. They don't seem to sell quickly for some reason despite being a great car IMO. When they flash up on auction sites they typically struggle to get over £60-70k so perhaps the sellers out there are a bit too optimistic on the prices they can achieve, or more likely don't need to sell so if no one bites then its not a concern.

As a penultimate NA V8 it’s a little surprising they’re not more popular although the styling does divide opinion.

I test drove a Cali T the other week and couldn’t wait to get to get back into my F430 for a bit of theatre and noise. As a driving experience I think it’s tough to beat.

Nothing has changed there it was the same four years ago when I purchased . I closely monitored cars for a year before I bought . Some low mileage cars had been at dealers for well over a year .

The reality was they were either overpriced or in many cases not the very best cars

I can understand that that feeling . I currently have an itch for a 911 and I know it will do all of the ‘Porsche ‘ things very well but it will never give that same experience as a my Ferrari would . There’s no other brand like it in the world .

Spending to much time in your yank then?

I drive my 360 on special occasions. The yank goes out on special occasions now too, due to 7mpg!

Not even them, spend most if not all the time in my daily especially this time of year with the muddy lanes ,

7 mpg yikes that must be some engine, the 360 must be like going on a economy run in comparison.

That's not unusual at this level as supercars isn't a very liquid market. A lot of the cars you see are on SOR at overly optimistic prices, but good well priced cars will sell.

On auction sites they don't get good money for two reasons. The stupidly high fees they charge mean you can add £5k to the bid price to get what the buyer is actually paying, and zero buyer protection on an old supercar makes it a risky prospect. These aren't collectors items, they are generally bought by enthusiasts to be used. A private buyer won't be keen because they want the protection of a dealer, and a dealer looking to flip the car won't be keen because they don't want Collecting Cars walking off with half their spread.

My new Holly is thirsty. I think she needs some looking at again.

Yes a few Mustangs from the past, thankfully all sold now.

Haven't driven the F430 for a while and took it out today as the weather was nice. Christ Almighty, it can't half make some noise! I'm not shy with it and will use it as intended but the noise it makes at 6k+ is just insane, I'd almost forgotten how addictive it is to hear it over and over again. Wonderful.

Taking mine out tomorrow if it’s as good as predicted. I still go “bloody hell” when I fire it up in the garage,
and it’s doing the warm up, with the capristo sound 3.

It’s like a 70’s f1 car, outrageous hehe
