Thanks MDL.

If I can be totally honest, I prefer the 812....
That V12 engine is the best motor I've experienced, and I've experienced an extremely wide variety of stuff.

That looks fantastic.

My 1st Ferrari was a 355 spider in Le Mans Blu and crema.

Loved that as it was a Ferrari that wasn't red!

Enjoy. beer

drivingVery nice sf90 spec and pair of cars, and I understand the love for the 812 engine. Noise / emotion counts for a lot, it is not just about the performance.
Very nice

I know what you mean - every time I don’t drive the FF for a few months I think about selling, then I drive it again and those thoughts go out the window. Very tough to live without a Ferrari V12 once you have had one …

As an update....

I'm selling the SF90.

I gave it back to Ferrari and they have it on consignment. I just didn't warm to the car. Nothing in particular except little things...

I specced carbon all over (a must for resale) and that meant I just didn't feel comfortable parking it anywhere. Scratch one little piece on the front or rear and it's minimum $4K, wheels the similar story. I'm not a powerfully built wealthy company director from Pistonheads so I don't have endless pockets to fund huge repair costs.

The car keeps alarming itself (a new Ferrari feature that cannot be turned off), even if you had the key inside the vehicle and then to compound it, a gremlin then meant the alarm would go off intermittently, not only annoying but also very uncool when you're trying to walk away looking nonchalantly.

The new dash layout is annoying, I specced Apple Car Play but when you plug it in, it totally dominates most of the screen, you can't minimise it. So I ended up not using it.

The hybrid system just didn't sit right with me, i appreciated it when I was in traffic, but that wasn't too much as you tend to use these cars a Sunday blaster. It would kick it when cold and was jarring. I'd much preferred the v12 from the 812 in there but I guess that's the LaFerrari and about 4X the price of my SF.

Lastly, I took the 296 for a drive, and I preferred it immediately. To my eyes it's prettier, sounds better and seems a nippier drive.

Anyhow, the alarmed triggered, wouldn't shut off from the remote, I had to get in, start it, turn it off and reset it all. That was the end for me. The dealer has re-flashed it so I guess it's sorted now but final straw and all that.

Very interesting, 3 owners of these I have met (non spyders) have moved them on pretty quickly.
One also like you preferred the 296, and has also ordered a 296 GTS also.
You're car in blue does look amazing though!
Shame about the gremlins / alarm faults etc.

Sorry to hear that OP. Hope it doesn’t cost you too much to get out of it.

It’s interesting that there are only 6 coupes on Autotrader and none of them main dealer. I am wondering if Ferrari is trying to keep used prices out of the spotlight.

Yes that’s my point - they are deliberately not being advertised on Autotrader.

My experience of driving the SF90 was similar. Its very clever for sure but the hybrid/petrol element makes it quite soulless and anodyne.

The 296 has achieved a far better balance between the two.
