asking prices seem to have gone up even since I last checked a year ago. Looks like the only ones in the double-digit euro bracket nowadays are Spiders with F1.
I am trying to buy a different car at the moment, but if that does not work out, I am a little tempted to buy one of the "cheap" F1 Spiders for summer. I'd rather have a manual GTS though, but I am unwilling to pay those prices. I think then I'd rather get a 328 GTS with the added advantage of lower running costs and manual.
If you don't mind the absence of a Capristo355 soundtrack the 328 is a splendid alternative for real world use I am trying to buy a different car at the moment, but if that does not work out, I am a little tempted to buy one of the "cheap" F1 Spiders for summer. But......... they sound like a '90s F1 car and handle like a go-kart

sun is shining today and it is warm - makes this look very tempting (if they throw in a new belt service, would not want to drive it on a belt from 2015.... even by my standards that is a bit dicey).

The 355 does sound lovely, one of the best sounding cars ever imo and it is just about fast enough for real world driving and you need to work the box to get it to move, so basically perfect. I would just have a tough time buying a car for c. 150k that I once sold for 27k ....
Know what you mean although I was on the good end of the bubble. Bought in 08 for £30k and had to sell in 15 for a house build for £70k. Would love to buy it back as was perfect spec for me. But at the original price. GTS, TdF and tan, challenge rear grill and decatt-ed Tubi. Although now I'd back off the exhaust a bit. Sounded glorious but I'm 10 years older now!Edited by ric p on Friday 30th May 16:14

that would be my perfect 355 nowadays, lovely spec. When I had mine, my perfect 355 would have been a road legal Challenge with the no noise limit Challenge exhaust.
At least I did not own one of those and sold it, as they were also only worth about 40-45k from memory and while I have no idea what they are worth now, I assume the answer is A LOT
Nice one here

It seems to be that GTB with carbon seats, manual, rosso is going to be the new chairs and flairs.
The only issue is there are not many of them.
Personally I dont see how seats can add such value - but it does. Guess its like just because its rare.
FHP is probably rarer, but seems to add zip in terms of value and you get a hell of a lot more.

The carbon seats are amazing. Supremely comfortable and lower than standard. In the right colour I think they look stunning too. I have a manual GTB with the carbon seats and the earlier 2.7 motronic plus I also have the pre airbag steering wheel. Of course I am far from objective but many consider that hits most of the desirable options. I absolutely adore it

That is one beautiful blue 355.
You can now buy sports seats for the 355 to your spec. Not cheap!

I once nearly bought a dark red 550 with Fiorano Handling Pack and those seats in it (originals obviously) for c. 33k Euros (I think it was formerly owned by M Schumacher or Willi Weber, can't remember)....You can now buy sports seats for the 355 to your spec. Not cheap!

I think 18.5k for the seats is not outrageous (but obviously pricey) and if I had a 355 or a 550 I would strongly consider getting a set - I think they look lovely.
I doubt it would do much for the value of the car though as that will be driven by original spec and all that crap - might entice people to lie though to boost the value of their car

That looks fantastic.Wouldn't touch an F1 355. Broke down in a very prominent and embarrassing location outside the Casino in Monte Carlo in one.
The two manual Berlinettas I had in contrast were both wonderful (one 2.7 one 5.2, the earlier non airbag car was louder and more responsive but also had the crummy square Fiat key)

Hill Engineering 360 pump upgrade is a good idea. I have it on mine. Advisable to change the F1 pump every 5 years, they are cheap and takes about an hour to do DIY at home.
There is also a widget / box you can get that apparently monitors the F1 pump and improves reliability but I have not bothered.
The accumulators are replaceable now too if you know the right part numbers and can obtain the correct thread adapter and washers etc. Sub £150 job now. Does need SD1 though as system needs bleeding but not a big job.
