The FF is still putting a big smile on my face. I am even looking lustingly at GTC4s. I have now noticed a small increase in my monthly fuel bill.
Anyway, the other night I briefly saw the OSF TPMS read zero, then the car, in a typical Italian chin flick way, the dash just said 'TPMS failure' and wouldn't display any tyres' pressure. I have had TPMS issues with other cars before, and at the time bought a £100 MaxiTPMS reader from the 'Bay.
Reader shows the OSF isn't transmitting. Not entirely unsurprising as they're now 7 years old. On reading the small print in the manual it says that if one or more wheel sensors aren't transmitting, the car will display 'TPMS failure'.
Off to the tyre shop later for some new sensors..

That's very interesting to see the raw messages coming back from the sensors that are working. It looks quite simple at that level. Hope it's not too costly to sort out.
What have been your best experiences so far with the car? If you have a moment do you mind doing quick a 3+/3- on benefits/drawback (i.e. like its thirst for example). Cheers!

TPMS fixed. A quick visit to Tyreshack for cloned sensors. They clone the existing sensors' IDs on to new ones. No car ECU coding or changes needed. They have a neat system and programmer.
The old valve stems were corroded. They're aluminium and two had to be drilled out. Luckily the couple of boxes of mince pies I took in for the workshop helped them do it without marking the wheels.
See the date stamp, Jan 2012. They've done nearly eight years. I had all four replaced. Note the sensor number 208XXXXX on the bottom half of the sensor matches the code from my scanner. They simply copied the code from the dead one onto a new sensor. All back and working.
I am sticking some miles on it. On the way to the LHR long stay on Thursday, the pad warning light came on ! The rears are low. A job for when I return.

The car is a great package. It feels modern enough, clearly the latest Golf has better DSG and electronics, but the FF is nearly a decade old design. I am very pleased overall, from a usability point of view and what I paid for it. I am so pleased with the spec, and the colour looks fab and blends in. It doesn't draw any attention, save for the odd double take at Tesco.What have been your best experiences so far with the car? The most annoying thing is the non-linearity of the fuel gauge! It's a bar graph type gauge. From full, the top bar is about 1/4 of a tank, then the remaining ones go down at an odd rate. On several occasions I've filled up at half marks to get about 30 litres in, or been sweating on the motorway 20+ miles from the services as all of a sudden I'm on the last bar.
I saw a comment on another thread that an ownrr drives it mostly in Sport. I've found the same. The comfort setting is a bit dim with gear changes and a bit wallowy at speed. I do flick to comfort in town traffic, so that it doesn't hold the revs too much.
I am very pleased, with the car, and pleased that I paid under £100K. Their depreciation is nuts, and I'd be more uncomfortable if I'd bought earlier.
I spent the best £20 ever on a DAB receiver;
It's now located on the right of the windscreen, and all wiring concealed. The antenna sticks to the windscreen, and has a magnetic earth strap. No good for an ali car and roof. I made an earth strap up, and secured under one of the sun visor bolts. Reception is almost as good as factory DAB on something German.

It won't go un-noticed that the first £8x car appeared. One might expect a Boris bounce, that is until the 31st Jan looms and the market gets jittery again. The car in question has my probably most favourite interior - crema Daytona!
There's a greater value gap now between a 35-45k mile FF vs. a £150k Lusso which mostly have < 6k miles so you're getting a much younger car by all measures. However the chap who recently purchased the V12 Lusso kind of underscored the quiet nature of the Lusso. I've never even sat in one but I get the impression they're less of an occasion than a FF (sound, throttle resp. etc.) Taking a Stelvio QF for a 48 hour test drive next weekend, really hope I hate it :-D

Lusso is pretty quiet - until you floor it and get the revs up. FF sounds louder and more exciting though. Lusso is more GT biased, whereas FF is more sports car biased.But, if anyone is buying a 4 seat Ferrari for sense of occasion over and above its practicality as a 4 seat GT car, then IMO their priorities are misplaced.
IMO Ferrari did the right thing in significantly improving sound proofing on the Lusso over the FF. Rear seat passengers need to be able to ride in the car for hours in comfort, without droning engine sounds.
For raw thrills, look to other cars/models. Neither of these compare to a DBS Superleggera for sound & thrills for example.

My view is this will end up somewhere around £90k as typical 2015+ cars with a pano roof are circa £120k or up.
The colour combo seems OTT at first but with the matching stitching and blue carpets it really comes together in a very handsome way.

I think that's lovely. That interior is different but hardly off-putting to my mind, and it will definitely grow on you. Bold interiors, my Grigio Silverstone F430 has a Rosso interior, have a habit of growing on you and serve to make the car feel even more of a special event. For that money that FF will make someone very happy, an enormous amount of car for the money.
This example also comes with a "strong" but attractive interior: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/... Only missing factor here, and I don't fully understand, is why the original buyer didn't opt for Daytona or cross-stitched seats? Dirt factor might be relevant there?

Personally think cross stitch looks really bad on a Ferrari (as always personal opinion) and Daytona normal seats work better on older cars - esp not a fan of Daytona with alternating colours The TdF blue on the auction car is about the only colour which makes the silver 5 spoke wheels look great.

Yep, for sure. So once it’s been serviced (in theory free), one wheel refurb (150 quid when Maranello did one for me), extended warranty, auction site commission and purchase price he’s looking at a touch above 100k, which is still a very decent saving on a dealer car. I’d be happy with that, and i think TDF Blue is the best colour for an FF. (and no privacy glass, how nice for once).This spec was 90k in the trade pre Covid so this is a decent deal for seller and buyer and alike.
