i wonder if he bought it back - probably not but he did jokingly suggest on a recent collecting cars podcast that he was tempted to buy it back because he enjoyed FF ownership so much. Edward Lovett also commented that he thought it was one of the best sounding V12's ever if i recall correctly (He aint wrong!).
I'm still patiently waiting for 'the one'. The pool is so fractionally small at any time (i look daily! Defo appears to be one of the very few cars that actually lean towards being a 'sellers market' car rather than a buyers. regardless of what the wider car market is actually doing.
I think you may need to be proactive rather than looking every day, I suspect a lot like mine sell without going on the market, perhaps ensure all dealers know what you are looking for or contact owners on here. Not sure but you may be able to put a wanted ad on the Ferrari Owners Club websiteI'm still patiently waiting for 'the one'. The pool is so fractionally small at any time (i look daily! I’ve had mine for nearly 3 years and every time I think of changing it, it takes one drive with kids in the back to banish the thought and keep it. Not sure there’s ever been a more exciting all rounder.
I’ve paid for a Ferrari warranty on the car since I’ve had it but had zero issues over 7,000 miles and 33 months.
Not seen many with the alcantara Daytona seats like mine - I found the leather ones slightly slippery but each to their own and whatever spec you go for, you are in for a treat
The plate is a new addition as decided to spend the cost of upgrading to an F12 / 812 on a nice reg

I was interested by this. Whenever I've bought a Warrantied car from a Ferrari (or Porsche) Main Dealer I've never asked for an inspection. Were they ok with it being inspected? And who did you use?
Well, at 10 years old and 17k miles I think there is quite a wide possible spread of paintwork and interior quality. I’ve just bought a GT4 off another dealer who is based locally and he kindly offered to go and check it out for me. I’m taking perfect service records as read and it comes with a 2 year warranty so it’s more about the intangibles like tired and scuffed leather, stuff like that. Going from an 812 GTS to a FF is an interesting and perhaps slightly odd change- it was implied your getting it instead of the 812, sorry if I have misunderstood.
Genuine question here, no offense intended whatsoever..
Won't it feel like a significant step down?
812 is obviously faster and more powerful, lighter, smaller, dynamically better handling car, with much better tech and nicer more modern interior..
It sounds just as good, so the FF has nothing over it there, or nothing worth mentioning.
Yes, it has something like 40%-45% more boot space, and four seats, are you changing for that reason alone? I ask mainly because if it's just that there are of course plenty of super quick four seater cars out there albeit not quite as interesting, but if it would allow you to keep the 812 GTS which is such an epic car surely that's an option if just boot space/seats are the issue.

Once you're north of 500hp (probably 400hp in reality) none of it useable in the UK.
All the extra power is most noticeable above 120mph when these cars really start to stretch their legs.
I drive mine a lot, it's effectively a daily for me but I work from home.
The biggest issue I'm having long term is retaining my licence, it's just too tempting to "drive" it all the time.

Very understandable questions. I am lucky enough to have a collection of a few interesting things. I couldn't resist the opportunity to spec a brand new 812 GTS even though the cost was eye watering. I am so pleased with the spec, I think it's nigh-on perfect (Grigio Abu Dhabi over Cioccolato, silver wheels, racing daytona seats, carbon fibre interior, no alacantara). It's an amazing car, no doubt, but I just don't seem to find the opportunities to use it very much. I did a road trip down to Dijon to run it in and did a few laps round the circuit too. There are 2 flaws with the car (other than overall size which obviously the FF suffers from too): tiny boot and excessive wind noise over 50mph. It's a lot less usable with the roof down than say a Boxster Spider or 650S Spider.
I would keep it longer but my business partner and close friend really wants one so if I sell it to him at least I can have an option if he ever moves it on. As for the FF, it will get a lot of weekend 'high days and holidays' use with the kids in the back, as well as my forthcoming trip to Bordeaux. It was an FF or a Bentley Conti R (another long term itch!).

It’s all about the usability / flexibility. Old 911 Turbo=never used, new FF=used too much…. Recent FF trip comprising of a 700mile dash from the French Alps to the UK in a single day four up with ski luggage was easy/relaxing - and it has a lot more charisma than an RS[x] too in that mode - then a cross country solo run is a lot of fun too. I just went to Maranello to test drive a Roma. Useless rear seats mean it will never get used for driving the family. So GTC4Lusso is the only Ferrari within its price range that would suit us, as otherwise it would just be for drives by me alone, which never happen these days with two children.
So I completely get going from an 812 to a Lusso/FF. It's a use case thing.

That’s superb! Congrats. Same colour as the FF in the original launch video with the car driving through different landscapes? Loved that! Must have watched it 20 times and always had a hankering for one…especially with black/red Daytona seats! Rather wish I’d bought an FF instead of the 599, which I never quite got on with.
