Thanks. On the reversing camera, I had understood that the factory fitted isn’t connect to the head unit at all ? Is that not right ? I couldn’t care less about seeing music info on the dashboard. Steering wheel control compatibility would be nice though.
Re Audiofile, I’ve had a lot of work done by them including the reversing camera to my previous Maserati and a £15k Defender refurb
They did a California recently. While I like them, I’m just not sure I’d trust an FF to them.

I don't know if the factory camera is fitted via the head unit or bypasses it completely - from what I've seen, the integration issues with the camera seem to be related to getting the camera onto the main display as well as the side display. What is apparent from reviewing the head-unit upgrade threads is that the experience and patience of the fitter is paramount as some owners have been able to retain the steering wheel control functionality while others have not.Re Audiofile, I’ve had a lot of work done by them including the reversing camera to my previous Maserati and a £15k Defender refurb

Not many upgrades have been documented (around 5 from memory) and no two have been the same. As a result, working out the best upgrade path is tough.

Yes - that is standard. What is not clear is whether the camera is routed via the head unit for display in the dash or not. Given that the head unit has camera input and displays track or radio station data on the dash display, it is possible that the dash camera display also comes via the head unit.ANOpax said:

What the view on front lift ? And Is it correct that cars without front lift are set up a little bit higher anyway ?
Lift is on both axles. I hadn’t heard that cars without lift are set higher but given that the suspension is fully adjustable, you can set the car to any height you like. I have lift and use it fairly regularly. It also makes the car a proper all weather proposition if you’ve got winter tyres on and it has snowed as you’ll have 17-18cm of ground clearance with lift engaged. However, it disengages above 40kph.
There are now several silver/black cars in the low 90s at the moment. Very pretty. The Pininfarina shape mixes angles and curves in a slightly more subtle way than the Lusso does. There is no contest as to which face I prefer - especially with the chromed edges. The FF sports a sharply creased transition from bonnet to the plumb front bumper whereas the Lusso's is raked aft a bit - just doesn't seem as purposeful.
This one is great but has the alu-tex wheel which is just wrong: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11315483?c... I suppose you can buy the black wheel components and switch them yourself.
Getting depressed that even May 21st doesn't mean we can leave this island for a Continental cruise. This is a deal-breaker for moving forward into one of these.

I’ve got my eyes on three (CC, Philip Ireland and GVE) cars at similar mileage to that silver one but 10k or so less.
But then there is a black one at Riken w 15k miles that might be a better buy.
Matt, I've just pulled away from that one after a month-long saga. DM me for the unedited version 🤔But then there is a black one at Riken w 15k miles that might be a better buy.

Historically mine (non Ferrari but other high end) has been inordinate amounts of research as to what might go wrong, checking whether cars I was looking at had signs of faults, pre-purchase inspections, expiry of warranty period and then the payment of largish sums of money to fix the things that went wrong that were never mentioned by other people and may or may not have been wrong at the time of the inspection.
Admittedly imperfect.

Id like to say a big thank you to the OP for starting this thread. I've been reading it since January 2020 and it's been invaluable.
As well as discussing the possible pitfalls of owning such a car, as well as general musings over what values may do in these strange times; I came to the conclusion that life is too short and a year pondering is a year wasted so pulled the trigger.
I apologise I only have these two pictures as I've only owned her for 24 hours. Here she is, resting after our 220 mile jaunt from where she used to live.

Beautiful, enjoy it, they're absolutely fantastic cars 👍👍👍As well as discussing the possible pitfalls of owning such a car, as well as general musings over what values may do in these strange times; I came to the conclusion that life is too short and a year pondering is a year wasted so pulled the trigger.
