The thing with changing pads at 50 percent is more relevant for cars that spend time on track (more heat), on a road only car you can run them much longer
I think I changed the pads on the FF once in 72k km (and that might have only been on one axle, can’t remember). It is quite good on tyres too. Although mine is a road only car and really more of a daily - doesn’t get much hard use

Hence my surprise when i saw needed change of pads noticed by a MOT inspector (!!!) at sub 20k miles. Coupled with MOT failure for rear tyres being sub 1.6mm (triple !!!).
Shame as I really love the interior colour combo.. Blu Elettrico might be a bit too much on the outside but could have lived with it to get that superb interior. Too many FFs come in basic all black seats and cabin which do nothing for me.. give me Daytonas or some cream/tan any days to lift the ambiance up a big.

Assuming it was not track use (or driving very spirited), the only other thing I can think of is lots of time spent on snow as then I guess the electronics will use the rear brakes a lot to counter wheel slip (the car is surprisingly capable in snow mode - can even clear the road like a snow plough with a snow fountain coming over the bonnet - looks quite cool)Shame as I really love the interior colour combo.. I never had any issues with my Special (lift was nice to have but managed pretty much anything without) but for example was an absolute must with the GT3...

Mine has the fornt and rear lift and I've used it a few times mainly on steep angles into a garage etc. never needed it for speed humps or Eurotunnel. Well, I'm a month in with my (new to me) FF.
I've done about 3k miles, the thing has performed faultlessly. I travel a lot with work, and these miles are normal. The FF is a great daily. It is big, but not as long as a VW T6 LWB PV, which I also drive a lot. Great drive, I normally cover my big miles in a Cayenne V8 diesel, and this is even more fun.
I had a half term trip to France. The FF took the family and all of the kit with ease. Not sure what the MPG is, but it's not horrific enough for concern.
The rears are gone. That may be my fault though.
New P Zero Rosso Corsa F01s. £269 each from ProTyre, £276 from Tyre Shack in Southampton. Great tyre. Quite soft, gets hot quickly, grips very well, even from cold. I don't expect to see anything close to 20K from a new pair of rears.
I have no connection with Tyre Shack, however I am a regular and very satisfied customer. They can get any tyre, fix TPMS, work accurately and carefully, allow you to poke around in the workshops, and basically follow any reasonable instruction from any detail obsessed customer. Not that I'm like that.
As The Jam said, in that great stanza Town Called Malice, "Life is Cruel, Time is Short". If you're still reading this, go and buy an FF while we all still can. This is the best V12 mega commuter, at as a reasonable price there is.

Sorry fella, just catching up on this thread. Thanks for your compliment. My Lambo is the LP570, not a 640. It's Balloon White, the colour Audi used for the 80's Group B rally cars, but wasn't widely available for production cars. Audi bought Lamborghini, decided their cars would look good in it ! Your journey on this thread and recent acquisition has gotten me thinking that maybe the time is right to add a V12 Ferrari to the fleet, so popped in to see this today on my way through Lyndhurst. Very nice car, just not sure I want a black on black car (and seems a bit pricey compared to others on the market at the moment). Also took a look at their 599 GTB (which they'd just sold), and that was really nice ...

That's the one. I really liked the car, black with grey trim, 5 spokes with polished face. I think the colour combo works well. I'm not a huge fan of carbon driving zone, looks too much. It is still over priced. They had this up at £140k in February, then £125K in September, now £119K, and although only 17K miles is too dear, even as a Approved Used. They wouldn't entertain a deal when I tried to negotiate.
See the one at Nottingham. They accidentally put it up at £96K back in September. I called, they explained it should have been £112K, but they 'might have a deal at £110K'. It's now £107K. Best time to buy cars is in December, so I'd bide your time, there are now quite a few sub £100K reasonable cars on the market, and I'm sure you'll be able to strike a deal with one of them. Good luck !

Thanks for the response, interesting that they've had the car for so long. Had seen the Nottingham car online, but not sure I like the blue leather interior. The black one at Exeter, whilst another one with an "aspirational" price, is a nice colour combo and I believe they've had that for quite some time. I’ve hit one of the occasional times when I need to re-jig the whole garage, and have been pondering an FF.
At the moment I’ve a Model S P100D, an R8 Plus, an Abarth 595 and a Brabus ForTwo, and between them they’ve covered all bases.
We’ve a second baby now, so the wife wants to swap the ForTwo for a ForFour or Up! Gti, I’m rejecting the Tesla, and the Abarth is going to one of our homes overseas for a while.
I can either use the wife’s car for family trips, keeping the R8,or get a sensible car like an RS6 or an AMG GT s Saloon, or an FF.
I keep getting tempted by an RS6, but worry that i’ll Never again have a proper sports car if I go that way.
What do people think of the FF for trips up North, driving down to see family in Nice, and having some fun at the weekends?

But in a word it’s awesome. If you can get past the looks (and many can’t) then there is no other word to describe it. Go test drive one. That’ll make your mind up either way. For long distance road trips it’s unbeatable. I was doing 7hr stints in France last summer and felt fresh at the end of them which may seem counterintuitive if you expect it to be a demanding drive. It isn’t. It cruises at high speed with better agility and stability than my BMW and the control lightness and effortless power mean that progress is rapid. And it’s not all Mr Nice Guy. If you want to wake the beast, simply mash the right pedal and off you go.
A car which can do all that and carry 4 adults is a rare one. I venture that you may reject the Taycan too once you’ve got the FF...

I also have a Taycan Turbo coming next Spring..On Thursday i had a test drive in a new GTC4 Lusso while my 458 was being serviced..My word what an incredible car to drive and i imagine an FF would very nearly be as good..I had a close look at all the used GTC4 Lussos and FFs my dealer had in stock and was amazed how comfortable i felt while sitting in the back seats.But in a word it’s awesome. The back end of both cars look totally different when i studied both as they sat side by side in the showroom..I preferred the cleaner look of the FF's back with its twin lights compared to the Lusso's fussier four light design.
I'm considering cancelling my £125K Taycan and buying a nice FF instead..My head tells me to stick with the Taycan however my heart's screaming at me to switch to an FF..
My view is the FF / Lusso do everything a RS6 and the like do - with the exception of less storage space (but sufficient imo) and no 4 doors. I even have a ski rack for mine in case I take more people
I prefer the FF, the Lusso is a little quieter/less raw (relatively speaking). My Nav recently packed it in though, so they are at an age now where you will have expenses for replacing stuff (that is not covered by warranty)

My local tyre place couldn't get the tyres on or off my 20" FF wheels (same as yours) because the spokes sit proud of the rim around the edge and the machine just wanted to move the arm in to the spokes as it turned.
Obviously I need to try somewhere else!

No issue with the tyre fitting. I hadn't considered that the spokes stick out proud.
