The seller posted up a PPI for the car in the comments

Nice one, I missed that. It’s a smart move by a seller as it’s otherwise a bit hard to bid with enthusiasm on a car that could hide so much grief.

Not too bad as long as the ptu isn't going to go pearshaped driving it home.
Surely a PTU isn't £25k so even if it does, the buyer is still in good shape.

I think the seller played a blinder with this one - very communicative and it clearly helped. I'm not sure I'd have been too happy with the seller providing everyone with the outcome of the PPI that I paid for though...

What’s the deal with CarPlay on the FF? And are there significant differences between early and late cars?
2015 was the changeover date for the upgraded head units. This car has the later head unit.

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14597861

It is better, in as much as it's tolerable unlike the earlier unit In my car which was simply awful. Do make sure it has Carplay though, it was an eyewateringly expensive option to add at the time. This was the first production car to get it.

I wouldn't let the head unit sway me over one car or another, but if all things were equal it could be a deciding factor.

£10k for a replacement upgraded PTU now from these people. That's fitted, drive in drive out - 24hrs.

I have looked closely at this car, but I have been told by several owners that a black interior without a Pano roof makes the car feel very dark and sombre.

It's currently around £83k with the fees. Is it likely to fetch much more than this?
I have a car with a pano roof, it was important to me.

It's not a case of "it's better" when it comes to resale, it's just they sell a little easier. It's also one of the few options on these cars that seems to retain some value. So the cars with the glass roof often sell quicker and for a little more.

Or buy one without and pay less for the car, it's just personal.

I'm on the Kent Surrey border, if you want to come and look at my car to see if it matters to you, you're welcome to.

Grigio Titanio over Sabbia, no privacy, pano roof. BTW the suspension is raised in this image, it's quite a steep drive to get in and out of this property.

I am going to add, I've never owned a car that picks up paint chips on the front bumper as much as this one does!

Although I do drive mine year round, it's peppered and needs a repaint. I can see it's been done previously, and not very well so that might be a contributing factor.

I'm thinking of getting the bumper PPF'd after I've had it painted.

It took me 5 years to take the plunge on a V12 Ferrari (once I'd arraived at a point that I could actually buy one), I came up with all sort of very valid reasons why I shouldn't buy one and bought something more sensibile instead.

But I still yearned for one.

Mine was actually a spontaneous purchase at the Festival of Speed, right place right time, just bought it there and then (subject to a PPI). It was nearly two months before I took delivery.

But, and this is a big but. I'd got comfortable with the fact that this car could throw a £10K to £20k bill if I was unlucky and I was entering with my eyes open. I also got comfortable with the fact if I needed a reason to get out of it quickly it was likely to "cost" £25K.

None of that (luckily) has so far materialsed and bar some minor hiccups (all covered under warranty) it's been less trouble than the Porsche Taycan I had by a country mile.

If the scary numbers make you feel uneasy, then you're just not ready for one. Sometimes it's got nothing to do with if you can afford it or not, it's just you've got to be comfortable with the fact it could occur.

I'll not own this car for life, I will eventually move it on and it will probably be my last special car, I'll be buying something sensible and practical most likely. But I'll have owned one, I wanted a V12 Ferrari since I saw a new 550 Maranello in London in the mid 90's. I've realised a dream and I'm enjoying it.

I'll look back and say "I did that and I'm glad I did". But it comes at a cost.

Same here, I had the choice between a 550 and a 911 Turbo a long time ago, went for the 911 (which is still great) but always hankered after that V12 special-ness…and now that itch is scratched. Albeit not ready for it to finish just yet…

i wonder if he bought it back - probably not but he did jokingly suggest on a recent collecting cars podcast that he was tempted to buy it back because he enjoyed FF ownership so much. Edward Lovett also commented that he thought it was one of the best sounding V12's ever if i recall correctly (He aint wrong!).

I'm still patiently waiting for 'the one'. The pool is so fractionally small at any time (i look daily! Defo appears to be one of the very few cars that actually lean towards being a 'sellers market' car rather than a buyers. regardless of what the wider car market is actually doing.

You're both correct. It even sounds better than the F12 eek

Well done, congrats!! I saw that one in person when I was there a couple weeks back. Great spec on that one. Are you Essex-based? Great if you are as I never see other FF's around.

These are great cars, so usable. managed to run some errands today in mine before the heavens opened.

Awesome spec car. Congratulations. Blu America is a big cost paint option and an amazing colour - basically, a metallic Pozzi.

hi everyone

I’m based on Kent / Sussex border. Near Tunbridge Wells. Funnily coming out of a beautiful 812 GTS which I just can’t seem to use that much. Final straw was realising the big road trip I had planned down to Bordeaux for the en primeur campaign with a wine writer friend wouldn’t work as the GTS has such a tiny boot.

So from 812 to FF.

Car is being inspected on Monday. The 2 non-negotiable for me were no tints and Ferrari warranty. CarPlay would have been great but I’ll have to add it later. I have a great audio guy so hopefully not too much hassle to do that

Ahh, not far from me I'm Kent/Surrey Border near Oxted.

I wanted an F12 (actually I really wanted a 550/575 but would never have got any use).

I bought an FF for exactly the same reasons you're moving from an 812.

Curious though, why not a Lusso? I personally prefer the FF to a lusso, which is handy as I couldn't afford the Lusso!
