My Scaglietti had been under a cover in the barn for a couple months, proper naturally aspirated V12 goodness on startup. Yes m'lord, grinning like a child.

Lovely. Surely not a stock exhaust?

Well standard sports exhaust option from the factory. I think most OTOs were spec'd with it. Recognisable by the 'propella' exhaust due to the double wall tips. It provides the proper Ferrari v12 ripping-silk quality to the exhaust note - have a listen to it here, not a great mic but you'll get the idea.

I really enjoy my 612. A gentleman's grand tourer unencumbered by aero slashes and slits, a design that I think will stand the test of time.

Great video and especially sound. I must admit I've not heard a 612 that throaty before as well but I've only experienced a handful of '05/'06 cars.

Where is the location? Looks so much like mid-Kent, Darent valley type of terrain.Cheers

Cheers, video was taken in South Bucks near Princes Risborough. The Kop Hill Climb is held there annually in September, the oldest such event in the country I believe and well worth attending. https://www.kophillclimb.org.uk/

Noticed you pumped the gas pedal. You know that is just a mental exercise to allow time for the systems to prime - it’s a DBW throttle so literally does nothing with the ignition off.

I saw you down near Askett a few months ago I think, can't be many blue 612s about in my neck of the woods (in Great Hampden). In fact at around about the 3 minute mark you come within a few hundred yards of my lockup!

You'll have to keep an eye out for my red 07 599 on the road when the weathers a bit better

There are some great roads in that part of the world...I’m a bit further away live the other side of Great Misenden. Orange GT3 is my steed....sadly not a Ferrari (yet)

“Chilterns Breakfast” sounds like a great idea when the weather is better. Big fan of both the 612 and 599!

Sounds good to me. Drop me a message and maybe we can all exchange details and do WhatsApp to arrange a Chiltern breakfast as suggested! You’re literally a mile from me. I’m in Hampden.

Went up to Chipping Norton for lunch today. Lovely drive. Car a bit mucky when I got back and it had seen off over half a tank of 98 wink

I'm definitely closing on a V12 Ferrari and keep coming back to the 612 as possibly the last V12 Ferrari with real elegance. Is there much difference between the model years?

The OTO cars from late 08 onwards benefitted from a revised F1 gearbox, suspension improvements, sportier ‘propella ’ exhaust, double din Bose infotainment/navigation and the photochromatic glass roof. Definitely an upgrade and worth the premium (see SOL’s YouTube video) but the older ones are lovely nonetheless, and they have the same peachy v12 under the bonnet.

Thanks... I thought the revised gearbox came in model year 2007?

was early 2008, they took the system from the 599 I think.
