When will 599's gain classic collector status

I think I would give "the first digital Ferrari" to the F12. I've had a 550, 575 and now have a 599. To drive, it still feels very analogue. Lots of steering feel, and whilst you are pulling a paddle to shift gears, you still feel that you are connected to the car intimately.
I have some other more modern cars and the 599 already feels "modern classic" to me. I look at F12s and 812s but realise they will likely give me the videogame experience that my other more modern cars have - something I'm not looking for more of.
I think all three of them 550, 575 and 599 will do well in the future - the F1 gearbox is the state of the art for that time and people will appreciate it for that. Of course, a manual 575 will always be the pick of the three IMHO

Another 599 to give an indication of the market's view on these cars:

perhaps more representative than others given it's a UK delivered RHD car

Too many made ( no matter how good or not they are) to ever be classic status. If the 360 is the mondeo of Ferrari, the 430 the focus etc etc... the 599 is the , ermmmm Ka!
Except for special editions...
575 backwards for the V12’s (202 sold in to the UK and those are Ferrari official figures) for future classic.
V8’s 355 backwards!
Ferrari make far more cars than they ever did and pcp’s enable more punters to buy them on the ‘never never’

How many worldwide and how many UK RHD ?
Approx 30 worldwide. 10 were European delivery. So it would be reasonable to assume the number of RHD 599 manuals is in single figures.
Still, £500k is a crack pipe price given where we are in the world right now. Sure there was a 12 month window when these were realising daft prices, but that is now history.
It only takes one very wealthy collector to buy it though I guess.

Cheers, a rare beast indeed then and almost name your price. So it would be reasonable to assume the number of RHD 599 manuals is in single figures.

Very collectable and like you say it only takes one wealthy person wanting it in their collection
The Collecting Cars 599 got to £105,000 (excl fees) and then said "unsold". Not sure if that's because there was a reserve, or for another reason. That would have been £111,000 including fees (£6k max fees I believe) which isn't too bad.
Although the car didn't sell, the 'market' clearly thought that's what it was worth. HGTE cars were sitting at or around £150k for ages in the 'good old days'...!

Never had the pleasure driving the hgte pack but the ride quality of the standard car is wonderful. I recall a couple of journalists stating that they prefer the comfort of the base version and I never felt the need to stiffen up the suspension during my ownership. Actually it was one of the most redeeming features the fact that you could nail it up a mountain pass in the alps and cruise all the way back to the Uk the day after and not be tired out.
