Is there much difference between rosso fuoco and maranello then other than I know RF is triple layer ? The rosso micalizato (badly spelled) looks very similar but haven't seen them on chat next to each other.
Both Fuocco and Maranello are triple layer paints, Fuocco is a bit more orange to me.

On the grass outside the atelier in the factory I just preferred Maranello but it’s very close

Just come back from a couple of days in Maranello and Modena with my son. Great place and breathes Ferrari in every corner.

Yes, I like it there too. Did you try the revamped Cavallino restaurant opposite the old/traditional entrance? There’s another great place to eat just down the road called Ristorante Montana.

There are something like 15 shades of Ferrari reds and they can definitely be tough to tell apart, particularly on a screen. I took a picture of this car’s VIN number at the club concours in August so that the dealer could confirm it was Maranello.

The triple layer paint is an expensive option for sure but I’d much rather have that than the equivalent cost spent on exterior carbon which for the 812 pretty much has to be all or nothing. My car is having none of it on the outside with just the driver zone and bridge on the inside and the carbon racing seats which suit me better than the standard seats as I need to sit lower in the car.

Is it the right time to point out Mazda Red? I believe Fchat covers the red issue on one of the threads in the F12/812 forum.

How did you find the potholes of Maranello Bertie? Was last there 3 yrs ago and couldn’t believe that the local roads were worse than my local ones in Devon!

Are they still showing the Grazie Enzo! film in the Museum?

They probably are, not done museum for a while.

I’m at the factory in a few weeks for a Tailor Made session for my 812 Competizione

Going to Montana for lunch, prefer it to Cavalinho although not been since that was taken over.

We ate at both Cavallino and Ristorante Montana and the food was quite exceptional in both. In terms of roads going up to the hills above Maranello they are still in a pretty rough state although quite of bit of new tarmac have been laid very recently. Great road to finesse suspension tuning which should result in the cars being suited to UK roads in complete contrast to German roads.
There was a stunning White 812 Competizione sat outside at Fiorano, might be Bianco Italia but not sure..

I think it will be Bianco Italia, there are a couple done in that colour doing the rounds. This one was at Silverstone a few weeks ago.
Fantastic colour, my 458 Spider is in it.

In which case I think it really suits the 812C. Both myself and my son agreed that the 812C looked amazing sat in the sun and much better than pics.

I agree, much more presence in the flesh.

With the carbon blade across the bonnet I don’t think it suits a painted stripe myself so that’s the plan

Mind you when I did Pista I went completely fixed on blue and came away with Verde Jewel so who knows.

Sorry chaps but metallic white or whatever is absolutely gash. The Alfa boys tried it with Madraperla on the 4C and it looked cheap st then.

It’s a triple layer pearl white, colours are very personal and I absolutely love it.

Completely agree it’s a personal thing. I think there are some great whites on Ferrari in the wild…

Good you are able to get to the factory, I had to specify my GTS at the dealership online to the Atelier which was a poor substitute for being there in person as I was for my F8 Spider. I especially didn’t like the guy trying to up-sell things like Italian flag trinkets. For me, a successful Ferrari configuration is knowing when to stop though I accept I may verge on the slightly tame end of the spectrum.

Last time I went to Cavallino, it was a shadow of its former self and I hope it has improved since the makeover.

Enjoy the 812C, sadly my buying history didn’t permit…

Hi, does anyone on this thread have some 812 luggage they aren't using and would sell?

I think someone mentioned there are deals to be done on it at the dealer but it’s still pricey.

The bits and pieces you get with a new car these days leave me a bit cold, a huge humidor thing to store the key and a pointless document wallet. I think a Ferrari branded carry-on or duffle would be a much better choice. Maybe others here are showered with gifts and if you buy an 812C, your cup will likely runneth over.

The GTS boot is pretty small, not sure you can even put two carry-ons in there. It’s bigger than the SF90 which must have the smallest luggage space of any car. 296 GTB seems much better but I’m not yet on message with that car. Will I ever be??

Just come back from a nice drive in mine with my daughter after a few weeks sat in the garage. It feels every bit as special as it did when i first drove it. It still is my favourite car i've ever owned or driven and looks set to stay that way. The 812GTS holds no appeal whatsoever to me as the softer damping and being a chunk heavier makes it more a GT car than a sporty Supercar IMO. The reduced legroom and much reduced boot space is also at odds with its long distance touring car.
Having just returned from Maranello, the Ferrari factory people I spoke to insinuated that the 812s replacement will be a much smaller capacity V12 with Hybrid assist which will make it sound worse and add weight and complexity to an already pretty heavy car.

I’m not shocked Taff, I have discussions with friends on this topic on a regular basis. Our best guess is something like a 4ltr V12 avec 450-500HP + 300hp of battery.

My hope is that it allows them to shrink the package from the fat boy 812. Make a package that’s more compact again than the F12 and Hello Kitty!
