I once drove two hours to a pub that I'd never been to in order to win an argument with somebody on a forum that I'd never met.

Every single drive out for me involves going the long way and sometimes just randomly turning down roads I’ve never been down just to extend the drive and explore. Often I’ll throw in a stop for a good photo too.

Edit: although sadly I don’t own a V12 Ferrari to do it in.

Christmas Eve, I decided to deliver the Xbox I just sold on eBay to a chap that was around 2hrs away.

I fancied a drive out in the Lotus. I thought it’ll be nice that he could play it over xmas only problem was I packed the wrong hdmi cable so it didn’t work.

I sent the correct cable off a few days later.

Totally pointless but needed to get out for a drive.

I did bham to the ‘ring for a pizza once. Not a single lap was driven and then came home.

Regularly drive to Glasgow “just” for an Indian.

I had to take some stuff to the tip a couple of years ago, the tip is 20 miles away. I have a few cars I could use.

I took the 550 Maranello.

Yep - did similar a few months ago. Didn't have too much to take, and discovered that it all fitted in the front boot and passenger footwell. I did get some fairly odd looks though - a McLaren 650S Spider isn't a typical tip run car.

I haven't taken the F12 to Morrisons yet, but I did take the 4C there a few times to do the Saturday shopping. That got some odd looks smile

Mine was mostly old car batteries and brake discs - it meant I needed to use lift all the way there!

My 650 regularly visits Aldi and Lidl - and had a few comments like : Did you spend all your money on the car, so now you have to shop here?

Indeed.

It means I get extra exercise as I park as far from the door as possible if I go in the Ferrari

I did a 2 hour round trip to buy some Halloumi and 2 pints of milk, although it was in a V8.

Fantastic fun, and the Halloumi was lovely.

(Not a Fez V12, but looking for an 812..)

Took the 720S across the channel to get a chocomel and straight back over. Didn't make it past the petrol station just after the tunnel exit.

Very good - but surely that's a golden opportunity missed for trip around Normandy for the day?

Absolutely, but left the house at 8pm after dinner. Was feeling restless!

I took the sump and other parts of my Mk1 Escort BDA engine down to John Wilcox Engines in the back of my F12 today as John is rebuilding the BDA to BDR spec for me (the man himself doing it too). Admittedly I had to drop the bulk of the engine down in the back of my Merc GL a few weeks ago and only went today as I forgot the Sump and some ancillaries.

Would have been easier and more economical to stick it in the back of the diesel slogger again but well, it's a practical car your F12. :-)
