Also, my car is already super loud
Not sure what you have now but don't settle for a pair of silencers only. His headers transform the sound rather than affect loudness. Couldn't be happier with his race headers. They give these engines the soundtrack it should have had from new.

To revive this thread, sorry I've been away. I'll just say life is st sometimes.

But onto more fun things. I've been saving money so I can throw it all away on the 599. I've already realised I have not saved enough so OT over Christmas and New Year it is.

The 599 is back in the hands of Lee at MDL supercars.

I have a huge list of work to do over the winter.

LSD is coming out and going to Florian at limitedslip.de.

Actuator is coming out and going to Simon at SSautotech (maybe more depending on what Lee finds)

Lee is going to sort the gearbox & F1 leaks

Rares at Kline Innovations is going send me an exhaust. Not inconel. That's way too expensive! I know it's a controversial choice as my heart says Fiammenghi. But I chose for heat management due the location of the cats and theoretically better TQ without much top end loss.

Lee will also do the timing chains, this will address the cam cover leak.

Once all this is done @360Trev is going to map the ECU and TCU. From chatting with him the TC can't cope with much more than 680 bhp and he'll install better torque maps in the TCU that are a better match for the ECU giving far improved shifts.

If Trev gets his reproduction GTO plenums sorted, these might go in.

Finally the 599 will go to Leo at Madeno Racing for some Ohlins. Leo is also making new bushings that will remove all rubber from the suspension.

Then there are seats and harnesses. Lee got Ferrari ones. Waste of money really but it's OEM paperbag
I haven't convinced myself on the seat I want as I want to keep that OEM look but be properly clamped in.

The brakes I already have but Lee is going to add the caliper cooling kit from the GTO for the fronts.

I think that's it.

I hope you're still cheering Hamilton on. I really want to see him getting better. I think he's been surprised by how difficult the team and the car are.

Certainly I am but I am enjoying seeing what's happening at the top field more. Welcome back. I hope that life is not too difficult for you.

I saw a quote on some social media masquerading as a professional site that said.

"I'm not where I want to be but I'm happy I'm not where I was"

That's for sure!

Someone else has always gone through it, you're never alone on PH

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that." – Rocky Balboa

The gearbox is out

And Lee is making everything look pretty

But it's not so pretty really. I don't know how many times the gearbox has been out, 3? 4? Maybe 5 or more times and this is the worst.

Oil was new before my last Nurburgring track day. Though it has sat for a year. It looks like it's seen a lifetime of abuse

The gaiter covering the actuator arm is full of oil

Lee says that there are a couple of seals inside that fail. SSautotech will have to rebuild it. It will come back better than new and hopefully help the shifting.

A few more gearbox pics

One good thing, the diagnostic says the clutch is only 4% worn after about 100 laps of the ring

More of the gearbox being broken down so the LSD can go Germany

This is the YouTube video that convinced me to contact Florian.

Long story.

TL:DR
Actuator went
Bought a new one as didnt know they could be rebuilt better
had 'issues' with it/its fitment
Simon was rebuilding my original one anyway so swapped it out then had it set up correctly with another Indy.

Will tell all over a beer one day.
