Don t want to hijack Cake s thread.
But is it possible owners didn t respond to the questionnaire because an honest response en masse would ve triggered a decline in FF / Lusso values?
A discussion for another thread, another time, perhaps?
I'm sure on the forums there's quite a few that just read and don't post. I do think that you'd be really unlucky to experience all the issues in the video, even for a hard driven, higher mileage FF / Lusso. I don't think that a questionnaire on fchat would change the perceived value, though there's at least one person on PH that has steered clear of a 599 because of this thread but this thread hasn't dropped 599 values. But is it possible owners didn t respond to the questionnaire because an honest response en masse would ve triggered a decline in FF / Lusso values?

Your post actually got me watching FF / Lusso videos and reading buying / ownership articles and looking through the classifieds wondering if my dream of a two donkey garage should be two front engine V12s instead of adding a mid engine V8?
FF does look like a very good option and in one of the ownership threads I read, an owner had added sound insulation to the boot and wheel wells to make the car quieter for rear passengers. Again, like the 599, it seems that later the year the better.

I can highly recommend it (as can a few other owners over on FChat).FF does look like a very good option.

Lovely.
My F12 has been in winter hibernation and I can t wait to get her out again. I wasn t sure when I first got it, but I never felt like this about the V8s. Such amazing cars.
There's a different vibe to the V12, they seem to attract a different kind of attention. My friend with a 488 / F12 has commented on it a few times, that when he's out in the V8 he gets a lot more of the "how much is it?" My F12 has been in winter hibernation and I can t wait to get her out again. I wasn t sure when I first got it, but I never felt like this about the V8s. Such amazing cars.
At Silverstone a kindly FOC member gave me a drive in an early 458. I was surprised by just how much better it was at stopping and turning than my 599.
Strangely enough, when I'm out in my friends 488 on the road (as a passenger) I miss the 599. The 488 has a nervousness about it that I just don't like. Or maybe it's just my friend driving

Pirelli really are knocking it out of the park with their new tyres and making me question my current tyre choices

It a minefield - and those reviews are based on Golf, not a front heavy rear wheel drive V12.
I don't know what to do really, not sure i want to be testing the new PZR tyres and find they are rubbish at £1200 a set
The 599 is anything but front heavy. At worst, it's 47F : 53R weight distribution... Now think of the Golf and its weight distribution... I don't know what to do really, not sure i want to be testing the new PZR tyres and find they are rubbish at £1200 a set
However, I still think there's merit in the results. I'm looking to change away from Michelin as I believe there's better tyres on the market now. Continental SC7 look a good bet and have the right sizes.
But new Pirelli PZR looks even better. Thing is, I know the Michelin, Pirelli have come from having such a bad reputation, it really does feel like taking a risk.

Those three 599s all lined up together looked great didn't they.

Hughesie's rims and colour choices really did stand out
Tax man does come first. Government will make you pay worse than a 599 for sure!

I think I saw a test drive of this car but I can't find the YouTube video

It does look to have very nice bitsSteering rack alone is 20k. I wonder if it included the GTO ABS unit and MC/servo?
One thing for sure, I'm sceptical about the GTO gearbox programming. HGTE is more likely. The GTO has a different gear set to allow the faster shifting. The GTO gears have the edge shaved so that the F1 system can shift like the graph of Tan(x)

The the GTB and HGTE programme moves in a square wave.
Even though I have the HGTE gearbox module, I don't get the full HGTE F1 superfast shift speed due the different torque maps in the GTB and HGTE engine ECUs.
Anyway, another thing I plan to sort with the help of @360Trev

That almost looks like a bit of a bargain, although maybe no in Ferrari world where originality seems to trump everything.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202603150...

I'd love it. I think the GTO panels look loads better, all you'd need to add is a bored out engine and some GTO gearbox bits and you'd have a superb car for less than £200k.
I've been doing a little research into 6.3 conversation and it's entirely feasible with the F12 crank and pistons, bore re-sleeved etc. And it's been done before by Edo Competition (unfortunately no longer trading).
GTO gearbox is 20k.
You'd have a monster 599 after all that

I thought the GTO GB ECU and the GTO ECU gave the super fast changes ?Anyway, another thing I plan to sort with the help of @360Trev
Similar to what Trev does ?
GTB 100 Milli secs
HGTE 80 Milli secs
GTO 60 Milli secs.
I know it a wiki page

@360Trev will give the car much better matched Torque tables. Improves shifting quality as well as speed.

Can confirm that the Conti SC7 is great as the F12 is on those but we don t track the car and the Michelin PSS which came off the F12 were aged out so it s not a fair comparison. However, Macca owners on SC7 report good things on both road and track.

The FF s MPS4S are due for replacement this year and P Zero R are available in the sizes I need

PZR do look like a great option. Tyre reviews said he has another test later in the year with an M3

Good bloody Lord.I've seen some really nice custom trimmed Tilletts in a 599 I think.
And the Tilletts will be significantly lighter and cheaper

I've had a seat in these and they're supremely comfortable, they do a none carbon version too but I suspect will still be extremely expensive once you get them trimmed to match.
Initially I was looking at recaro, particularly the pole position as I've found them very comfortable in other cars. But when I went to GSM performance for some reason they just didn't fit me. The SPG version did seem better than the pole position.I've had a seat in these and they're supremely comfortable, they do a none carbon version too but I suspect will still be extremely expensive once you get them trimmed to match.
Then again, when I looked at getting it trimmed and the weight, just didn't compare well to the Tilletts.
I did look at the Recaro podium CF seat you suggested but I didn't feel like it matched the interior of the car. I know that the Tilletts don't but these just looked too much to me and reminds me of a BMW seat.
I've been naughty and gone and done something I shouldn't have.

The GTB boot lip spoiler has always looked a little emasculated. I don't really like the aftermarket ones on offer. I didn't want to buy a GTO boot. So I've engaged Robin at
https://rabtarcomposite.ch/
to see about designing a boot lip spoiler.
So I've been doing a little research for something functional, that won't spoil the look of the car

Anyway, let's see how this progresses

Good effort - if it looks any better than some of the tat out there i could be interested as long as it doesnt look like this:

Yeah, I'll do my best to make it 80s max power
So online there's a big range.
Here are some options on the internet.
Ferrari.com 599 XX pic
Vorsteiner xx programme - very similar
Something more subtle (called Duke Dynamics in Canada but they don't make it any more and no longer have the mould)
https://hodoor.world/product/duke-dynamics-body-ki...
I'm thinking something between the two, functional, effective but subtle and in keeping with the car
I'd also appreciate ideas

Christ, but whoever came up with some of the above should never be allowed near anything that affects air flow ever again. Which about sums up most ppl in the car design world.

Hi DeejRC, I'll definitely check with you once I have design options.Ping me if you need Brother, once upon a time this was my world. These days I mostly deal with the second half of the aerospace wor(L)d.
This is a screenshot of the 3D scans of my 599 GTB (right hand image) and also a GTO to see the difference and possibilities. One of Lee's customers very kindly agreed to allow me to have his car scanned.
I also like the more subtle BMW lip spoiler and the visual effect of the notch but obviously the notch doesn't help aerodynamics and I want something functionally better than OEM. From one of the videos I watched the lip spoiler can help the diffuser be more effective while also adding a higher pressure area above the boot without significantly increasing drag.
I've also bought the Novitec front spoiler and rear diffuser (to be installed after prepping)
https://www.royalbodykits.com/collections/ferrari-...
RBK were significantly cheaper than the UK importer.
But it also has to be pretty. I didn't think the haman or the novitec boot spoiler to be pretty and I wasn't convinced of it's functionality. Novitec did verbally assure me that all their parts are tested to prove effective.
Vorsteiner vxx is just too bulky though I'm sure it's effective.
