V12 2+2 swap into Purosangue, bad move?
Discussion
Have to admit, at significantly over £300k, it doesn’t make any kind of sense to me. At all! Keep the Lusso and buy an F12 or a 599 AND a 360 Manual Spider.
I get the insta/YT/Dubai/LA Set bunch will want to swan around in it, but I’m kind of presuming everybody on here is vaguely normal. Ok we have JayEmm and his shirts, but hey, I like loud silly shirts - so he is allowed.
I just don’t see it from the perspective of anybody vaguely normal and not part of the weird poncy brigade.

The same could have been said of the Urus and it’s buyers I guess but there are a lot of them about. For me, all that financial platform development investment, not to mention the cultural / heritage hit (this is a big reason why Ferrari has taken so long to reluctantly add a SUV to its model range) to create a rare low sales volume product??? Just doesn’t add up to me.
Not going to enter into debate on whether SUV or not as it is. I know marketing are trying to spin it as a “FUV”. I’m not saying it’ll be like a Mercedes GLS or an X5, but it certainly is not going to be a GT in my eyes.
It depends on your definition of GT. The Conti GT or DBS are softer than any of Ferrari's GT cars. Not going to enter into debate on whether SUV or not as it is. Have you seen the spy shots of the PS? It shares the proportions of the FF and Lusso. The bonnet is long and there's a lot of horizontal space between the front wheel arch and the A pillar. As a result, it's not going to look at all like the Urus, Bentayga or Cullinan. The DBX has proportions more similar to the PS mules but I expect that the PS will end up being shorter in the cabin and lower overall.
I'm hoping for a Lusso meets Dakar Rally type look.

With that in mind - what's your take on holding FF until Purosangue launch (its a big move price wise- but let's assume that is less relevant here)? Are all V12 2+2 drivers excited about the Purosangue as the car to move into or do you view this really as an SUV and you would rather stick to the GT range of FF/ Lusso?
I have a Lusso, but certainly would not describe it as a 2+2. It's a full 4 seat supercar.Regarding the Ferrari SUV... I wouldn't dream of swapping a Lusso for an SUV. Absolutely zero interest in that.
Bit of a reflection over w/end and remembered why I bought into V12 2+2s...for me it was the next best practical thing to the V12 2 seater they reflected that I hugely admired... from the 575, 599 to F12 and now 812. I never stop turning my head to the 2 seater V12s albeit the 2+2 format will always give me more daily miles while kids in tow.
So it might be that as the PS does not reflect any of the V12 2 seaters (Roma V8 perhaps?), perhaps this is what lead me to the post as it might be a stretch too far in design away from any 2 seater V12 GT that it'll not be for me...

this is probably not far off - Clubman to the Cooper perhaps w luggage for 4

Hi GStar, so do you have a quote on the Ferrari official upgrade?
Cheers,
question is out, awaiting price - geopolitics slowed me as well as a recent Z4 M40i drive for the good lady Cheers,

So my dealer finally got back to me... slight concern on timing of reply... in any event, they confirmed item is discontinued - shame. For now, official aftersales sits here https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/auto/genuine/ff
Thanks for trying anyway.gstar said:
