JBR capital?

JBR usually insist. Fitters are all skilled and no problem gets fitted to a good few of our lumpy sale cars.

They fit them to everyone elses cars, if they did cause a problem quite easy to pin point but I have no experience of them causing any issues neither does a motor trade mate of mine who does considerably more volume of high end cars than me.

its a sor car and the ferrari tech is saying no one drills or cuts into the loom before the car is paid for? so I've reached stalemate there's a good chance after all the work thsts been put in it could now stall. Yes I agree the fitters of trackers might be OK but I can see the sellers point too,no one works on the car until its paid for

That’s a confusing post, are you suggesting you want to get a tracker fitted before you have bought / paid for the car?

Hi let me explain. JBR insist on fitting a tracker before they will release the money. The dealer is saying no one touches the car until its paid for? Me personally I don't care if it has tracker or not but the finance are insisting before they release funds. The dealer is saying get stuffed until its paid for

If you want the car and it really is a stalemate & neither dealer nor finance are moving from position (which seems silly, especially the finance co, as I think the dealers position is much more reasonable, then you could ask finance to put the funds in escrow with a solicitor for the dealer and structure like that, but it’s rediculous situation really.

I’d speak to the finance company and ask them how they’ve solved this impasse in the past. This can’t be the first time this has happened and surely they want to do business?

As I say, I’m with the dealer on this one.

Hi I agree I'm more with the dealer. But finance are not moving on it I've had brokers trying everything!! If it's not part of their system they won't budge and I assume that would include any third party legal input etc. Its the most ridiculous situation I've faced. They just say they do 100s a month and it's never been a problem !!!

Surely they can get an agreement in place between the Ferrari dealer and JBR to not release the car to you once funds are paid until after the tracker Is fitted?

The dealer is in the right here especially if the car is SOR as the deal is not done until the car is paid for and if for any reason JBR dont release funds then the dealer or owner or you from your deposit are left with the expense of removing the tracker.

Escrow (cost and faff)

Or large refundable down payment to dealer

Are only two things I can think of?

Speak to dealer. Explain impasse. Give dealer e.g 10k cash (from credit card payment) to be refunded after finance co have paid for car. You shoulder a little risk if dealer messes with paying you back, but CC insurance guarantee should help if dealer do something silly.

Good luck! Sounds Annoyingly close to toy time!!!

Easily resolved by getting a large none refundable dipper from the buyer.

Easy solution, you make your offer conditional on tracker fitment being included within the price, on the basis they will do that you’ll pay your full deposit to dealer, say 10-20%

The car is SOR, so not sure if this would work!

To be honest I’m not sure financing one of these is a great idea in the current market.

Is there a balloon at the end? If so id be a little nervous.

Seen your post about future classic, but I suspect prices will soften slightly, and as you can see from some of the dates on the classifieds, moving them on takes time.

If you don’t mind taking a slight hit, then it’s a non issue.

If you were keen to sell as owner and buyer was putting down a non refundable 20%, say a day before purchase to enable a professional tracker installation then would you really be bothered?

Non refundable deposit of 20% has anyone since time begun ever really done that? As for taking a hit yes I suspect it will but can anyone name a much safer place to sink your money into than a well sorted manual 360? The selling agent will not be open for discussion on thus so the best I can do is ask that he asks the owner if they will consider it,but its a weak chance

To be honest I've already bent over to buy this car offered full asking it has to be re registered from isle of man in my time so I need vin insurance on collection so the tracker issue could be the final straw for me. I want the car but not enough to have to beg when I'm paying top dollar
