f12 - sensible time to buy?

How was the 12C? Sounds like it’s a proper all rounder with ride quality but then still goes mental …
Seems to be a unanimous feeling amongst dealership staff and the professional drivers I spoke to on the experience day. They’ve so obviously had to refocus the car as a GT tourer due to the almost total lack of sound from the engine. It sounds very digitised; almost like a computer game sampled version of a V12. Rides beautifully, but feels more of a daily driver and completely lacking in theatre even when at 10/10ths compared to F12/812. Also feels slower than 812; just so much less dramatic. They are really struggling to sell them. Pre GPF 812’s and F12’s are where the long term value will be (imo).Edited by Familymad on Monday 26th May 19:32

For me the worst spec car out there. Black doesn’t do F12 too many favours, too low mileage for a 12 yr old V12, wrong wheels, no interior carbon, no LED wheel, always thought at £175k they were chancing their luck. 5000 mile cars will always have their market, so at £162k probably fair value now.
No lift. Looks high enough to not worry about….belfry said:
I find it distracting when driving at night. The LEDs are dazzling. Definitely not worth paying £7k in my view.
Just turn it off at night if you can be bothered to go through the menu. Never had the need but from owners manual. The LEDS on the steering wheel can be deactivated using the
MENU screen page on the left TFT display (see page 96): call up
the MENU screen page, select the items Car setup and RPM on
steer and then select OFF. To reactivate the function, select ON

This sounds right to me. I took one out for a test drive and whilst it’s clearly a phenomenal piece of engineering, and I am in the apparent minority who love the looks, it lacked any of the excitement of my F12 at socially acceptable speeds. I actually hit the rev limiter on it and didn’t realise as it completely lacked the drama the F12 has at the top end.I’d have a spider if I were made of money and had a regular commute from Cinque Terra to Monaco to suffer through (though not sure it offers much a Conti or even AMG S class convertible wouldn’t for that), but as a high days and holidays car in the UK? I can’t see it.
I took a 488 GTS out back to back with it and before we’d gone half a mile the dealer turned to me and said “this is more your thing isn’t it”. It was just that obvious.

No lift. Looks high enough to not worry about….Finally got up to Autosales/Autostore to view a Porsche. Really like the setup, and would have full trust in Jonathan. Saw the F12, and it’s indeed a beauty, that Charcoal Interior really works well against black carpeting and Carbon Fibre Interior. Supposedly the only UK Grigio Silverstone with Racing Seats in Charcoal, a few with black interior. I have similar mileage and this car is better condition than mine, and mine is great as I’m Obsessive with my cars. Definitely going to paint my wheels Silver now from Grigio. The service history is on point, just done, new pads all round and tyres. He bats off offers on the phone, if someone makes the trip to view, I have no doubt when they see the car and meet Jonathan, a deal would be struck.

After a teaser some time ago yesterday was finally pickup day. A couple of 100 miles in I am extremely happy with the F12, a very different car to the 458. Very much looking forward to getting to know it over the next few years and some great trips.
So out with the old and in with the new

Congrats!! Both cars look great sat side by side - shame the 458 has to go but I’m sure you’ll love the F12!!So out with the old and in with the new
