Yes the Ferrari Racing Days will be 23/24 Sept and this year I think it will be very big as its the 70th anniversary. They do these days around Europe and the US around some of the racing and corse clienti events.
Its not a pure track day as it has a lot of glitz and glamour if you are booked in the hospitality. They typically have track day slots for owners in between the races and events but they are limited vs a normal track day. It may be between 2 and 4, 20min - 30min slots.
Irrespective, its a fantastic day and well worth it.
The best I ever went to however was quite a few years ago in Spa. The hospitality was AMAZING. They had a hospitality suite at the bottom of Eau Rouge, with a conservatory where you can see the cars going past and inside a grand piano with someone playing classical music (the soundproofing was surprisingly good) and some amazing historic cars and champagne flowing all day.
The only fly in the ointment at the time was that I had to turn up in a smart car as my 308 sheered a manifold near Bruges on the way, so had to be shipped back. I parked some distance away and of course did not get on track with that wink

Differences in modes normal/race/asr off
So today was the first time with asr off. I can't say it felt any different to race. Between a race and normal however there is a world of difference. I would go as far as saying normal mode on track is awful! It's like a whole different car.
Has anyone felt any difference however between race and asr off?

Was that you at Donnington yesterday? Nice!!

People agreed with my Instagram comment on SCD post about the CS the best sounding car there.

Does Race make any difference to the noise? I use it on the road thinking it will always be at its loudest!

Random question, but what difference does Sport or Corsa make in a Gallardo Performante? Not tried them yet.

Not that I am about to do it....but out of interest what track day DB limit would a CS make?

105db static? But imagine the drive-by might be an issue?
my Stradale got black flagged at Silverstone with +107dB drive by...on a almost brand new (couple '000km) stock Ferrari CS exhaust

Spa (last spring) was fine, they never noted anything

both were quite cold days (we had snow in the evening before Spa) and Silver was last November

Wow. 107db drive by is quite some racket. Think Goodwood would say good night immediately. Not convinced i'd pass the 105db static!

yes it is a problem! am seriously thinking about trading/swapping for a GT3RS 997 3.8 which is more acceptable on tracks

I really, really want one of those too. But I do NOT want to sell the CS. It's my favourite car ever.

What colour would you go for? I love the Aqua blue. But warming to the launch colours of grey with red.

Nearly got an Aqua one about 3 years ago for £145k. Damn.....

I use to have a white 997 3.6 GT3RS

This time I'd go grey with gold decals and CCM
There is a nice blue one with gold trim at the moment for sale though...contemplating but missing CCM

Note: those RS are so much faster than the Strads too smile Before anyone says: I know younger car and more modern

Sorry I missed this post Ian. I was away that weekend. My next proper trip out is May 7th at the Blancpain GT at Brands Hatch. Hopefully bring the CS and 650s

How did you have a 997.1 RS in white? The spoiler looks like a Gen 2.

Not sure if I am being dim but what is CCM?

Don't you dare buy that Aqua Blue one. I probably look at that most days and want it so much.

Would be such fun on track and bullet proof compared with a CS.

Anyone signed up to Goodwood breakfast club in May? I've got a Hampshire convoy going through Chilgrove. Would be fun to have another CS in line!

CCM sorry meant PCCB carbon brakes
CCM carbon ceramic material
PCCB Porsche carbon ceramic brakes

Spoiler lip (black) was a Cup item,...as the RS one would wear out rather quickly on speed bumps and the Cup one was like 3x cheaper
But actually on the picture this was the original RS spoiler

Yes had a white RS in 2009/2010 I was the 2nd owner, amazing car...really should have kept it!
My neighbor, Sean Edwards (RIP) had one too, so 2 white RSs sometimes parked in our muse.
From memory 5 RHD 3.6 RSs came to the UK

That Aqua blue does have ceramics. That's why i was confused.
You talking about a 3.6 997 Gen 2 before they went to 3.8 or the 997 Gen 1 RS? If Gen 1, there are loads of RHD. Well, not loads...it's all relative!

hmmm that blue 3.8 RS...love it. but need to sell the Strad first cannot have 4 cars parked in front of the house in central London, 3 is already a huge pain
Maybe I should call JZM, see if they would do a PX...but they don't really do Ferraris and this blue 3.8 is also a RHD (not my favourite)...so don't worry too much, you can lift it

355 Fiorano keeps getting some publicity on Instgram with "challenge stradales worldwide" posting him being spotted! His is the "OXL" reg isn't it?

Why don't you like RHD? I can't deal with the idea of LHD in the Uk, seems too awkward and a pain being on the wrong side.
You could rent one of the spaces in my Noble garage in Chelsea for one of your machines. I am sure I can find you one. Be fun to have you in there, especially if I swap the Noble with the CS in the summer for some London cruising.

I think I saw your white RS once on the north end road about 4/5 years ago. I was astonished it said RS on the back and looked very cool compared with the usual colour combos.

I like LHD as I drive a lot on the continent, and will one day retire back on the continent or US as well, so easy to import

I've seen pics of my Strad on Instagram as well, but mine takes quite a lot of verbal abuse as it also has a white stripe across the bonnet as my ex RS

RS use to be an all year rounder ...check this

Publicity is just a byproduct of driving it I guess .... albeit unwanted but to be fair if I was a teenager with a camera I'd probably do the same. I don't do instigram or Facebook so in most cases I'm oblivious unless someone shows me. I do get withdrawal symptoms when it just sits there though. Donington was a good opportunity to learn more about the car and how it handles. I was apprehensive about turning all the nanny systems off but I needn't have worried. It really is very communicative and a great machine to drive. Can't wait for the next one smile

Question for the CS experienced types on here. I've noticed a few reasonably priced cars listed in Europe of late (examples below).

Question is. At what mileage limit would you draw the line? I'm aware of the whole buy on condition thing but would imagine there is a celling after which the resale market begins to turn off and residual impact increases. To add, does anyone have experience of higher mileage cars and if the trend is that after xxx miles these things begin to have serious issues?

Would welcome any thoughts - thanks (life long CS lover / current Scud owner).

There are many standard 360 with six figure mileages so the basic drive train is solid

that's because these cars are not "clean"

for instance call the French seller...nothing mentioned here, but if you call him he'll give you the history: bad bad crash, re-jigged, etc. he'll provide the pictures and everything
https://www.challenge-stradale.com/136359.html

Call the German dealer, some of his Strads are from Japan: zero history...
but for a little less mileage and totally straight, he also proposes this one...for a lot more bucks
https://www.challenge-stradale.com/136759.html

mileage is no issue on these cars if they are maintained. But maintaining them is expensive! Servicing is never enough, there are always stuff to be done or that should be done before they are fully worn out (suspension, brakes, clutch, pumps etc...even door seals are mega bucks). The engine/gearbox seems to be really solid, it's what's around that ages

Thanks for this...

Having owned a Scud and now that you have a CS how would you compare the running costs / ownership experience?
