That's just insane, what the hell happened to the market? It's a great car but honestly, that's just simply not worth that amount of money. Utterly bonkers.
Agree, and I am a big fan. I think the gap between LHD and RHD s going to stop being material soon enough as well. 30,000 miles RHD and £480,000 - let's see if it sells! Seems to be a private sale too.Ted Maul said:
I just don't get it. It's a wonderful car but even the exclusivity doesn't justify the price. If you were just looking at performance alone any number of Ferraris would out perform it at half the price. It's just not that special, it just isn't!
It’s not how fast it goes, it’s how it goes fast. Performance figures are largely irrelevant when assessing value.
Have you looked at the price of “performance” Ford’s lately? With a few exceptions IMO they weren’t that great when they were new. The market is the market.
I’ve had my CS for 14 years and have driven high performance cars my whole driving career, including a 3.2 carrera at university (IMO they’re overpriced, but that’s for a different thread)
Nothing would induce me to sell the CS. In 5 years time the price point now will seem cheap.

fully agreed. One can make an imo very sensible and valid argument that being - relatively speaking - slower is actually a selling point and not a disadvantage.

On the one hand I’m pleased that the market is picking up on the CS but my god, it’s gone bananas and I just can’t get my head around it. Same for the 430 Scuderia, that’s gone nuts as well.

I do think prices over the last 3-6 months have gone a bit crazy, not sure what the reason is / why so suddenly and where the buyers are coming from, but they seem to be there. Neither the Scuderia nor the CS are truly rare cars, so that cant be the "only" driver.
The generation that had the CS as their poster car are now hitting their stride in terms of earning potential.
20 years ago the F40 was £250-300k, or thereabouts and they made more of those than CS s.
If you want a visceral, raw Ferrari driving experience there s not much in the product range to rival the CS.
This is why I maintain it s still a bargain.
It s clear that the market is adjusting quicker than some people s perceptions, but these people aren t relevant to the rising market. The DK Engineering CS sat at £500k for a while, it jumped to £600k after Mecum and is now sold. This speaks for itself.

"I'll be honest the Stradale has as they say more soul, no other car is as raw, as loud and a pleasure to drive. I don't like saying it but I have nearly all of them and that is my choice."
