I spent 22 enjoyable minutes last night agreeing with everything he says. I love the golf umbrella proping the front bonnet up too!

I noticed his has got an extended steering wheel boss fitted, does anyone else have one? I'd be quite interested in what they're like as it the most annoying thing on the car for me, long arms short legs driving position.
I had the 25mm spacer fitted (50mm I was told might over stress the column) which improves the driving position. I also had the HE drilled pedals and gate fitted while I was ordering bits from them.

Glad you enjoyed the vid, I use a universal steering wheel extension available via Demon Tweaks on all of my '70s and '80s Italian cars but I see Hill Engineering do a bespoke Ferrari Testarossa steering wheel extension that allows the horn to still work (unlike on my TR), link here: http://www.hillengineering.co.uk/catalog/sws02b-p-...
Welcome and Nice to see that you have finally found your way to the testarossa thread Harry. As said before, been waiting a while for that video, absolutely spot on. Have you got any pics of the car that you can post up in the near future? What's next on the agenda/project list for the car?

I do believe my predictions from last year have already come to pass. It seems the iconic testarossa is starting to rightly claim its place in the hierarchy and indeed it's place in the market. RHD cars with 20k miles + seem to have levelled at £100k at present with some signs of sub 20k miles hitting the £150k sooner than expected. Wonder if the Miami Vice car sold for its advertised £1.3 million though?

Hopefully not a re-post but here's John Pogson giving a bit of history of the TR's early days and his view of the car.
It's a bit less detailed than the F40 vid they did previously but still worth a watch. It had me looking at sports exhausts again........

Watched this one a couple of days ago, followed by three episodes of Miami Vice. Pogsons car sounds lovely in that carpark and looks incredible in white, starting to think I chose the wrong colour. BTW that was 4 mins or so of an 11 minute film posted on Driven, but to watch it you have to subscribe and give over bank details.

It's funny how these cars suddenly get traction in the market... @ £120k + they still look incredible value against 308/328's and the alike IMHO.

Does colour affect values of Testa's much? ie. yellow... I have an opportunity to buy a yellow car at the moment, but it's real difficult to pin a value on the car in the current market - all RHD cars seem to be selling very quickly.

A testarossa looks superb in yellow and it contrasts so perfectly with the black features on the car, would not have a problem with a yellow one myself. I assume black interior? RHD and miles?

Yellow with cream - sounds strange, but I have to say it looks really nice. Circa 27k miles.

Sounds v.nice. Value? Well anything sub £90k is going to leave enough room to cover all costs, service and insurance for the year and the increase in value should make it a free car for the next 12 months. So when you picking it up then?

Now didn't I read on a post somewhere that you once owned a testarossa? If so it says a lot that you are returning to the fold!

A Testarossa was the first Ferrari I bought - have since had a few others, but for me I don't think the Testarossa can been beat in terms of 'sense of occasion' and presence (unless you have a significantly larger budget). The Testarossa is an icon.

I do have a red with cream car at the moment, currently undergoing a full belt service and 'detail' etc... But I've always fancied a yellow one...

When you say you have another red car with cream, is that a testarossa?

A beautiful red Testarossa E596CGK drove past me today near Oxford. Absolutely wonderful to see and looking amazing. Haven't seen one actualoly on the road for years!

Robert, that would have been me. I nipped over to Oxford Radio yesterday to check out the alarm and help sort an ICE issue out. All my cars get regular exercise and as the Testarossa is off on a big trip soon, I'm busy getting it fettled before we go..

Hi Harry,
Hope you don't mind me asking..
How do you compare ease of living with testarossa compared to 550
you were running a few years back.

I still have a 550 (see photo..), if somewhat lacking in the roof department and both cars are proper GT cars, which I really like. With the 550 being over a decade newer, you won't be surprised to hear it feels more modern, so you get better switchgear, significantly more performance, an easier gear change, etc.

The big difference for me, though, is the Testarossa feels more special more of the time, I think it's mainly because it's mid-engined so you need to adjust to that fact every time you drive it and the styling is more dramatic too. The 550 takes less adjusting to thanks to its front engine, rear drive layout, it's also easier to get comfy behind the wheel and the performance is always more than you expected.

I love owning both cars but if I were to have only one, then it would be the Testarossa. I don't need the extra performance of the 550 and the TR is a 'poster car' when I don't think the 550 ever was.
