I was discussing current trends with a friend today saying there seems to be some wild speculation going on. Discussing the 308 and 328 the later cars are light years ahead in build quality and although the shape is similar we couldn't quite understand why a 308 would be so sought after in comparison to a 328...I digress, I also mentioned he might consider selling his 20k 87 GTS, he seemed to think the numbers I suggested as..not in the real world. So what would it take to buy Red/Crema car such as this?

What price did you suggest? There's not many for sale to base prices on at the moment.

If they rise much more for 308's, I'm seriously going to have to consider selling mine.

I mentioned 50-60k. Seems after reading this thread I may have been on the low side.

Interesting to see that both of the 328's at Nick Cartwrights are now marked as sold - I believe they were around the 50,000 mark (?)

It's interesting to see that where 328's were previously being advertised with a definitive price against them, they're now listed as P.O.A. - That leaves the sellers free to re-adjust the prices as they continue to rise almost weekly!

It's also interesting to see just how many dealers are now advertising that they urgently require 328's to sell!

Noticed that a Hampshire based specialist has a 1989 328 GTS with 10400 miles advertised for £80k. The car has the nice leather dashboard and rear shelf. From the 'photos, the car looks great and it will be interesting to see how long it will take to sell.

but is any of the interior original - oh and the wheels - if it were my hundred grand I'd prefer it to be as it left the factory

Does anyone know what dealers charge for commission sales?

Fairly variable but in the region of £ 2000-5000 depending on work required / warranty etc - and any discount comes out of your margin not theirs !

That's not quiet as bad as I thought. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Have you asked Nick Cartwright what he would buy it off you for?

I've dealt with both Tim Walker and Nigel Jeffery and they are both gentlemen to deal with.

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendations. I've not contacted anyone just yet. I only started considering it last night, so really haven't made a decision.

A possible house move, hankering for a project car and maybe just time to bank some profit are all potential reasons at the moment.

Does Nick Cartwright generally make a good offer as you hear stories of some dealers weighing in with ridiculous values

I doubt you'll get anyone to buy it in except for silly money : SOR only hence previous reply about commission

KHPC & Rardley have also sold high value 308 recently

Happened all over, not that long ago you couldn't give away a 550 Barchetta!
As far back as 2009 they were still fetching £99k...I know because I looked at buying one...so hardly being 'given away'
