I would hold a year or two and see how things pan out ref fatherhood.

Sadly I'm increasingly realising that with two young kids, holding an expensive fleet isn't sensible. And even a nice 4-seater is unlikely to get anywhere near as much use as something like your RR (XC90 for me) as it's simply so much easier to use the bigger car. I think you might end up "resenting" having an FF sat doing nothing, where you can rationalise it with the other 3.

I've had a Maserati GT for a couple of years, following similar thoughts to yourself...it's a great car with plenty of space, massive road presence, immense sounds and a nice interior (even goes well for such a heavy car). But even that is rarely used to the point I've decided to give up on cars like this for a little while. (Christ, that took some writing smile).

I've felt I should scratch the 911 itch for some time so will probably do that for a bit. Then see where the land is lying when the boys are properly getting into cars (assuming they do) and, hopefully, prices of top end cars have reset themselves.

You'll regret selling any of the 3 you currently have IMO (my old 355 remains the best car I've owned - except my 7 smile). Keep them. Get out in them when you can and enjoy what the RR offers when you have the little one with you.

Andy I think what you wrote above articulates my current thinking very well.
I took both the 355 and CS out yesterday (albeit in central London so not much of a "drive") but they are just so nice and different I would miss either of them deerly if I sold ... whatever the replacement I think.
I'll still go and try an ff but I do think that ultimately I'll try and hold what I have and if possible add another ... off to buy a lucky dip now smile

I quite evidently need to win the lottery well ahead of you, so leave those tickets alone.

You could always move out of town into the sticks. Better roads, cheaper property, more garage space. Though even that just buys a bit of time before the reality of how absorbing kids are and how fannying around slotting chattels into a car not really designed for the purpose loses its edge after a while smile

Still, better to have loved and lost...(cars not kids! Not totally sure I can believe I typed that either biggrin).

Admittedly this is the first time I have ever seen a Tesla price as I'm not interested in the slightest but Whoa ...

biggrin

I looked at them when replacing the family wagon. Love the idea. 60k, even 70k I think I'm in and could even overlook the airfix kit build quality and the fact that the fuel side would still never pay for itself... But 135k just induces belly laughs. Which is unpleasant for a fat lad.

Mind you, 911 prices are almost as preposterous.
