I know of at least two UK based F40's that have burnt to a cinder and yet live on, rebuilt in times when values were far less than they are today - Look at the wider super-classic market and it's much more common than you could imagine.
Plus in Ferrari terms the F40 is quite numerous. Still a shame though.

F40 on fire in Monaco? Happens all the time! Here is photo of another F40 on fire in Moncao which I took around the back of the Hermitage in February 2016.
