Wonderful documentary "The Big Six" by Cave Bear Films about Hugh Langrishe's role as Time Keeper for Ecurie Ecosse at Le Mans 1957 and his friendship with winner Ron Flockhart (partnered with Ivor Bueb), as well as when the custodian of the 2nd place Number 15 car, Clive Beecham, reunited Ex Works/Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar D Type XKD 603, with Hugh.

What an amazing achievement it was that the Ex Works/Ecurie Ecosse D Types XKD 606 and XKD 603 were 1st and 2nd driven by Bueb/Flockhart and Lawrence/Sanderson with other Private Team D Types taking 3rd, 4th and 6th positions beating Ferrari's absolute finest 315S, 335S, 290MM and 250TR Works cars piloted by the world's best drivers, as well as the Aston Martins and Maseratis in the World's Greatest Race. All us Tifosi here will appreciate and respect how The Big Sixes of the "D" beat the Mighty Twelves.

Olivier Gendebien can be seen in 0704TR in the film as well as other great Ferraris.

WOW! enjoyed that, thanks for posting, watched the same D Type vs Orient Express on You Tube, It's called "The Great Train Race" ,well worth a watch but it is in several parts which can be annoying, Reminded me of a Proteus aluminium C Type replica i had also in Ecurie Ecosse blue followed by a LR D Type long nose in B.R.G, had a Forward Engineering 4.5 engine,Went like the clappers and handled so much better than the C type, The D type encapsulated you where the C Type you sat on it rather than in it , hard to believe there was only a few years between them. Perfect escapism, turns the A1 into the the Mulsanne Straight,

Lovely , and a delight to see the nice old boy have the experience of being in a car from the race so many decades later.
