Any idea why the bids were lower than expected?

Okay, so you want to see unsold/expired auctions.
Well I just googled "challenge stradale collecting cars" and it came up.

IMO theyre overvalued currently. Top bid was around £100k? For LHD with those miles and that spec sounds where they should be. The only RHD I'm aware of recently that sold was around £165k otherwise the same low mile cars have been advertised for many months and months. Apart from dealer to dealer transactions and in one case a car that was £180k months ago suddenly appeared for £200k with higher mileage with another dealer. This just isnt the market anymore. I'm sure I'm not the only waiting for a good specd sensibly miled (18000-24000) RHD car when they come down a bit and personally I think £110k for LHD and £160k for RHD for average mile cars is roughly where they should be. Especially when you consider Scuderia prices irrespective of what you feel is the more enjoyable car. I'm aware of a 16000 mile Scuderia RHD with good spec that sold for £150k not so long ago, what does that say about advertised prices..

Stradale tend to commend more money than Scuds, and has been the case for quite a few years now

I think in the long run the CS will be worth more than the cars that followed it thanks to being the rarest of them all (in case of Speciale and Pista probably by quite some margin). Not sure at what level that will be though

Stradale commanded more than Scud since 2015. Before that no. I've owned three at separate times - two RHD and one LHD. Theyre incredible cars, my favourite Ferrari, but they are overvalued currently. Several well respected dealers said the same thing to me, even one main dealer who had a RHD car on SOR - I made an offer the dealer agreed was bang on the money but the owner wasnt realistic about what its worth. Thats why the same cars have been for sale months. Massive recession coming anway unfortunately - many in money markets agree we're already in recession, with delayed consequences as everything is on pause with furloughs etc. Correction will happen. Thats why the LHD on collecting cars only reached circa £100k. No one thought it was actually worth any more. Still somewhat of a surprise though considering many cars on there are achieving strong money while we're still on the crest of the peak, guess no one got over excited on the vino that evening and people bid more realistically.

Before that Scud was too new imo. It will take a while for the CS to overtake the Speciale and the Pista, I assume during the next value up-cycle (quite possibly the last one before we are no longer allowed to drive the cars on a regular basis without jumping through hoops). I suspect it will be a combination of CS increasing a little in value and the other 2 falling quite a bit from today’s level. I think the Scuderia will stay somewhere in no-mans-Land value wise (IMO it is the best of both worlds, fast gearbox but not yet 2 clutches - I am in the minority though. Unfortunately for it, it is the worst looking of this group of cars - again imo)

am torn between CS and Scud.

Intending to rack up some chunky mileage and so leaning towards a Scud.

It would be unwise to trust anything which Collecting Cars state.

There are too many unhappy folks who have had bad experiences with them both buying and selling. Their business practices seem reminiscent of a well known 70’s/80’s Car Dealer
Can you elaborate ?

The listing held some interesting details. It had previously been crashed/repaired and had been recently found to have a crack in the chassis. God knows what else was wrong and not listed. I was max £80k bid on it and only because I was going to tear it apart for a project.
