all of my dry weights are official weights off of lamborghini's own spec sheets, which will also be stated in the owners manual in the dimensions section....

unfortunately, there is no 'official' dry weight for the 560-2..... what i had to do was then as you say work out weight saved by various bits... starting point is the official 550-2 weight, then biggest weight savings are actually the seats and wheels, and these are specifically well documented in articles re the first gen superleggera...50kg right there

the gallardo anniversario was displayed at shanghai as a bit of a shock, in addition to the aventador 720-4 anniversary edition, which was expected.... think they didnt want themselves to make too big a statement re power:weight as at the time they were also trying to market the ugly facelifted 570-4 squadra corsa

https://www.lamborghini.com/en-en/brand/masterpiec...

remember dry weight is car minus fliuds, and proably extras like left and sat nav,

the source you link states curb weight, which will include weight of 9l of oil etc etc and petrol.... and extras.....

would love to get my car and others onto some weighbridge.

Yes the sl was purchased in January 2015
I had to wait for the import papers and dvla to register the car for around 6 months,
In that time I had 6 cars loaned to me consisting of 4 hurricans and 2 Bently super sports to pass the time by lamborghini Pangbourne,
What a top guy craig is,
I was going to sell the sl to fund a new house but managed to do it with out loosing the car,
When it came to the crunch I just couldn't do it,
I had traded my way up from a Renault 5 gt turbo to the sl over many years and all that work couldn't be lost,
One day I may sell it but for what I just don't know,
Having said that I am off to view the new hurricane track car next Sunday!

What a great thread on car hunting with a positive outcome after unexpected sellers remorse - I paraphrased the story to MrsC before she went off to "play ponies" & hope she's paid attention to the dedication/understanding by the OP! Anomie & other half (PH name to be advised by the looks of it!) I hope you enjoy car as it looks epic, especially with the special wing on the back yes

An expensive thread for me.
Managed to snag one of these today after initially looking at offerings from Ferrari.
Thanks to the OP (Cheers Rachel)who gave me some great info on this particular car.Picking up in a week or so after its had a service at Lamborghini so will update the thread on my impressions.

Congratulations on your purchase - the car looks fantastic. The mix of extensive carbon fibre and alcantara makes them look/feel pretty special.

I'm in the same part of the country as yourselves, and my little toy is a LP570-4 SL in 'Trump orange'.

Enjoy the V10 noise!

Thanks for all the nice comments. Chuffed for Craig now he has joined as well. Glad I could help and will look forward to his posting as and when.

Out enjoying the car a bit last weekend.... A64 to B1257 up into North York Moors, lunch in Harome, A170 along Sutton Bank...lovely views, great day out. It is a good thing the weather this weekend is so rubbish as we might have been tempted to bring her out again instead of sticking to our guns: in the garage till April. I am sure there will be lots of fun to come and probably/hopefully see some of ya'll at various run-outs...

The only thing is, I wonder how the hell this happened? Who needs a Prius when:

Thanks all.
Should have it next Thursday after its had its service at Birmingham.Clutch has 0.8 wear out of 5.6 apparently and brakes/discs 40% worn so I'm thinking all ok? Tyres have 6mm right the way across so all good there.
Had 2 former keepers so maybe you were one of them motheatenhound? Reg starts BX14.
Going to be 5 long days!

Bet you can't wait to get it. They are totally epic fun and the noise is just amazing. Think that makes 3 in Yorkshire now (Ours (Changed username from just an old porsche fan), someone else who posted on this thread and yours). We will have to arrange a get together when the weather picks up or drive down to Auto Italia in a 2WD white Lambo convoy.

Picked it up this morning and chuffed to bits with it.Took a few photos of the GTS yesterday before that went and thought it was a great car that would take some beating.I needn't have worried by the looks of it!
Feels solid as a rock and the noise is addictive in sport mode.(I daren't try Corsa just yet).A bit of a learning curve ahead as its so different to anything I've had before but roll on summer!

Previously known as "Just an Old Porsche fan."

So had the car a couple of weeks now and been out in a it a few times. Even took my friends son to school in it the other week.

Am I glad I got this over a 7.1RS. Hell yeah. A lot gets said about the RS being a real drivers car, the feedback, the high revving engine well if I am honest the LP560-2 has all of this plus a lot more. The steering on it is fantastic, it really does go where you point it and when you are pressing on it delivers all the feedback one needs. The backend can be a bit lively but the roads around where I live are covered in mud and wet so maybe this will die down a bit but I do love that feeling in a car. Really does keep you on your toes sometimes as it will easily spin the rear wheels up in 3rd gear.

A lot has been said about the e-gear not being the best system in the world but I think in the later Gallardos Lamborghini got it right as I have had no problems using it. Stick it in sport and away you go. Its not felt clunky or slow and even though I am missing a clutch pedal it really doesn't matter. As I said about the steering and backend, it makes it more than engaging enough. This really is a car you drive with your right foot and you left as the brake pedal is just in the perfect position for left foot use.

Also the noise, there is no way the RS would have sounded this good. Nor would the RS have attracted so much attention.

Only downsides are the whacky electric windows switch being back to front, it doesn't like manouvering that much and the front seems to skip on full lock. But these a small to price to pay for such an amazing machine.

In short, I love it, love it, love it!

Had mine out today, too. On a low loader, courtesy of the RAC. Crank position sensor again, probably. Cheap, easy to sort, but aggravating!

Wacky window switches? Down=down, up=up? If yours work in the wrong sense then somebody's been monkeying about with them!
